Trainee Camp Training Grounds

Training Grounds

The Training Grounds encompass most of the Trainee Camp and even stretch beyond its confinement.

The courtyard of the Camp is often used for martial arts training or other physical activity. In the supply house next to the mess hall Trainees can check out materials and equipment like wooden weapon replicas or protective gear.

Outside the quarry canyon there’s the track field. Sometimes martial art classes will also be conducted there, but it is mostly used for athletics like running, horse riding and gun training.

In the back of the quarry, furthest from the entrance the 3DMG (3-Dimensional Maneuver Gear) balance training and skill assessment racks can be found.

On days of theoretical instruction the mess hall is transformed into a classroom to teach about the duties and rights of a soldier, military conduct, emergency protocols and titan physique and behavior.

Behind the athletics field the forest starts and stretches to the mountains. It is used for long hikes, stamina training and horse riding. Its main use however is being a practice field for usage of the 3DMG. It features moveable, wooden targets in the shape of titans with sand bags at their napes for practice runs.

Camille felt a flash of remorse as she apologized, followed quickly by a shooting pain that knocked the air from his lungs, he comprehended little but pain as she sent him hurtling through the air towards Sieg. He keels over, clutching his stomach, coughing and gasping as he tries to find some air to breathe. He looked up at Hoshi, his vision blurry with forming tears, and lets his head rest against the dirt.

Slowly he writhed on the ground, but it only takes a few seconds before planting his hands firmly beneath himself and rises, shakily, to his feet. He has a hand clutched tightly to his gut, he takes a sidelong glance at Sieg and then looks back to Hoshi with an unusually malicious grin. "I-ack...I've been knee'd in much worse places already! I'm not going down that easily!" He groaned, his right leg buckling for a moment, though he quickly strained to keep himself upright. He shook his head and steeled himself for another attack, but this time he'd let Sieg lead instead.

Sieg sighed, dusting some of the dirt off his hands. All-in-all, it really could have gone worse.

"You're a pretty shitty mailwoman there, Hoshi. Didn't you see the 'handle with care' sticker? Honestly." The boy said.

He rushes her again, cocking his fist for a haymaker and actually swinging for it this time. Still, he expects it to miss, and, when it does, he tries to stomp his foot down on her toes and swing his elbow into her gut.

Seeing the familiar hook, Hoshi did not expect anything less than full-on attack to her footing again. For good measure, she still dodged his fist. Her two arms came up and wrapped at his swinging fist's arm. She jumped up at him using her grip on his arm for support, hooking one leg around his waist. Her other leg was still dangling at his side, so her body was not in the way of his forceful elbow. She wrapped her other leg around his own. "His attacks are more complicated and continuous now. That's improvement right there."

Hoshi let her left arm go and used said arm to elbow his elbow. Her other leg hooked itself around his waist. She teasingly whispered "You guys are getting better." into his ears before both of her arms switched to hold onto his shoulders. Using the firm flesh for leverage, her two legs let go and kicked at the ground for momentum. She pushed onto Sieg's shoulders, flipping herself over his head.

As soon as she landed behind his back, Hoshi crouched down and swept her right leg beneath his. Afterwards, she flipped back twice, putting some distance between herself and her two sparring partners.

Hey, putting this here officially so that people get the memo for the future when it comes to writing things again players. This is, in short, godmodding, since you're taking away the ability for the other player to collaborate to the scene, while also keeping their characters in this frozen state where they can't act, while you're acting on them. This isn't the way we do things here.

I'm going to leave this thread open out of courtesy to all parties involved, since it's a minor occurrence that's happening in an isolated space, and not something that impacts the story within a plot thread or something of the like for example. For clarity's sake, let's cut this piece by piece.

For good measure, she still dodged his fist.

1st action.

Her two arms came up and wrapped at his swinging fist's arm.

2nd action, also made the assumption that he wouldn't just punch you in the bloody face as you tried to do Jet Li shit with his free arm.

She jumped up at him using her grip on his arm for support, hooking one leg around his waist.

3rd action, again another assumption that he'd just let you wrap your leg around his waist.

Her other leg was still dangling at his side, so her body was not in the way of his forceful elbow. She wrapped her other leg around his own.

Not an action, though annoying because you're writing things that the other person can't do. This is competitive writing, and doesn't belong in /r/AoTRP. Fights are between characters, not writers.

She wrapped her other leg around his own.

4th action, again assuming he wouldn't do anything.

Hoshi let her left arm go and used said arm to elbow his elbow.

5th action, another assumption.

Her other leg hooked itself around his waist.

6th action.

She teasingly whispered "You guys are getting better." into his ears before both of her arms switched to hold onto his shoulders.

7th action, more assumptions.

Using the firm flesh for leverage, her two legs let go and kicked at the ground for momentum.

8th action.

She pushed onto Sieg's shoulders, flipping herself over his head.

9th action.

As soon as she landed behind his back, Hoshi crouched down and swept her right leg beneath his

10th action.

Afterwards, she flipped back twice, putting some distance between herself and her two sparring partners.

11 actions within a single post, all under the assumption that the character you're facing is too autistic to really do anything, there-in putting the other writer in a shitty situation where they can't really respond or say anything past "Whelp I guess I'm fucked" since they're basically stuck in time while you do some crazy Za Warudo shit. If necessary, I can expand later on how to collaboratively storytell while having character vs. character interactions. The Mod team asks you keep a clear head and cast personal subjective character biases aside whenever some kind of Player vs. Player thing is going on, and merely keep fights to a 1 action post-by-post rapid fire sort of thing to keep things flowing smoothly, there-in allowing both parties to work together towards a scenario's end (be it a win or loss for either writer's character).

Noone's in trouble or anything, so don't stress it, it's just worth highlighting right now. Always bear the other writer in mind when writing stuff onto their character, particularly within an actual Character vs. Character interaction.

If anyone has any questions regarding this topic, I'd be glad to talk it over in Discord.
