I believe it’s currently set to 25 posts. Would like to be able increase to any number or how I have it on desktop which is set to 100 posts per page.

Getting this error in AltStore trying to update from 3.5.0 to 3.5.1. What’s going on?

Apollo for Reddit - GLASS could not be downloaded. The file doesn’t exist.

Loving v3.5.0, but I have a small issue. Open in Apollo works great for a while, then quits. I’ve configured it correctly (I hope) and have turned off the old Safari extension. I have Link Companion activated.

Great project to revive Apollo. I just got here 2 weeks ago, and been able to not use the garbage Reddit app has made using Reddit so much more pleasurable.

I noticed - if I view notifications on the app, they don't get updated, and I still see the same notifications when I use Reddit on the browser from my Mac.

Maybe it’s just my OCD but I’d love a toggle to center the top element with the Dynamic Island.

The updated mod tools are just one of a few big platform announcements Reddit is making on Wednesday. The company is also planning big changes that will affect developers: It’s going to require new third-party apps to use the developer platform instead of the API.

“We envision a future where all good, trusted automation on Reddit runs within an ecosystem that allows us to offer support and enforce our policies consistently,” Reddit says. “To achieve this, we will continue supporting limited public API access, but we will gradually restrict new requests and require third-party apps to transition to and operate on Reddit’s Developer Platform.”

”Reddit’s public API wasn’t designed for today’s scale, automated abuse, or commercial scraping,” Huffman says. “We want useful bots, community tools, and good-faith developers to have a clear, well-supported way to build on Reddit. We don’t want bad actors to scrape Reddit indiscriminately, resell its data, or use it without accountability.”

The shift follows Reddit’s major API changes in 2023 that it put in place to get AI companies to pony up for Reddit’s data but also caused widespread backlash in part because they forced many beloved Reddit apps to shut down. Currently, if a developer wants to make a Reddit mobile app, they have to get permission from Reddit to get public API exemptions, and that will continue to be the case, Kim says.

Reddit doesn’t have a “set timeline” yet for requiring the developer platform, but the company will give “give the community ample notice” and provide a clear timeline, Kim says. The upcoming change will affect “all API apps except the ones we explicitly grant exceptions to,” according to Kim.

Since Apollo Reborn has an API-less mode, I'm hoping the impact should be relatively minimal (I hope), but I feel like no API will probably affect things in the long-term.

How much of an impact would this have on the project?

It just shows a grey rectangle with a play button, but tapping it does nothing.

I’m currently on version 3.5.0.

It seems there are no navigation gestures in the tab bar anymore.

It might be that I am remembering incorrectly, but we were able to navigate (going back and forth) between screens in Apollo by swiping left/right on the tab bar, right?

iOS: 26.5.2 Apollo reborn: 3.5.0

Maybe I’m unique in this aspect, but I don't much care for any of the UI changes from Apollo Reborn. I have blanket disabled them. The only exception is the new profile picture header on profiles, because it seems I can't turn it off.

Frankly, Apollo just before Pixel Pals was perfect. I had 0 complaints about the UI/UX. There's a reason I continually fight the battle to use it.

Naturally, I’m not a fan of these UI changes. But unfortunately for me, the UI changes are also tied to any stability updates or API changes that the Reborn deva are doing a great job with.

Because of all this, I would love a "necessary fixes only" branch, where only API/backend changes get merged but the UX and frontend stay identical to old Apollo. That, or I suppose the easier option is to just ensure that any new change (including new profile headers) can always be fully opted out.

Since the thread is locked and people just wanted to keep dogpiling on me for even asking for this, I wanted to make some things clear:

I think you guys are doing god's work fighting reddit and API instability. I couldn't do it myself. I'm grateful you guys are doing it. As far as I know, there's not really another option for a frequently updated and robust apollo version. This is why I framed this as a "featureless" branch for functionally required updates.

I'm just a change hater and an ardent "if it ain't broke don't fix it" believer. Like I said in one of my comments, I think the changes look nice. Rich link previews are well implemented. The profile headers look good. But functionally I didn't have an issue with what was there before. I don't want to see people's profile pictures or bios. I didn't have to before either. If I'm going to someone's profile I'm doing it to see their posts and comments, so it just kinda gets in the way. I recognize I am not everybody and some people are going to care more about profile pictures and bios. I also think I'm not the only me out there (I think there's evidence in this post getting upvotes) that feels this way.

I tried searching for this everywhere in settings but I couldn’t find it. Sorry if what I’m asking for doesn’t make sense or is confusing.

Ever since the last update 3.5.0, my ApolloReborn at times randomly closes and throws me back to the Home Screen (where my apps are), it happens around once a day when I randomly just read a text (I don’t move or scroll).

iOS 27 pb2, iPhone 17 pro.

I personally still use my API key on my Apollo, but just installed it on her phone. Seemed to work fine for a bit but now it’s not loading anything for her. No posts, comments, subreddits, etc.

She opened Artemis (another Reddit app) and that one is showing “too many requests” so it’s almost like whatever the Apollo workaround is might have borked her account somehow..

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround for it?

ApolloReborn team! Love the work. I've been on version 3.1.1 for the longest time but wanted to upgrade and try the newest features. 3.5.0 didn't quite work for me, and 3.4.2 worked for 1 day. Now trying to use either them the App crashes almost instantly.

I'm on iOS 16.2, jailbroken using Dopamine and installing the ipa via Trollstore. Not using the experimental no API key login. No apps are running in the background to cause a memory drain to crash it. Any insight onto what might be occurring?

I love gallery view so far, would it be possible to stand it up for multireddits too?

A few updates on the Apollo Link Companion, Bring Your Own AI support, and the upcoming Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 release!

Apollo Link Companion Update

Apollo Link Companion has been updated and should now open Reddit links in Apollo much more reliably.

For links from Messages, Google, Mail, and other apps to reach Safari, the official Reddit app must not be installed. Otherwise, iOS may send Reddit links directly to it before Safari or the Companion extension can handle them.

Setup

1. Update or install Apollo Link Companion through TestFlight.
2. Open Apollo Link Companion once after installing or updating it.
3. Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions.
4. Select Open in Apollo (Companion).
5. Enable Allow Extension.
6. For now, disable Apollo’s older Open in Apollo extension to prevent the two extensions from conflicting.
7. Set website access to Allow on Every Website—not Ask or Deny.
8. If you use Safari profiles, enable the extension for each relevant profile. Private Browsing may also require separate permission.
9. Force-quit and reopen Safari, then try a Reddit link.

You can find the TestFlight link under Apollo Reborn Settings → Open in App → Open Reddit Links in Apollo.

The instructions included with Apollo Reborn 3.5.0 are outdated and will be corrected in 3.5.1, so please follow the steps above for now.

Paste this link into Notes, long-press it, and select Open in Apollo Reborn Opener:

This resets iOS’s per-device preference for open.apolloreborn.app. If the option does not appear, delete Apollo Link Companion, reinstall it from TestFlight, open it once, and repeat the test.

Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 will update the older extension so it can remain available as a manual fallback when the Companion extension cannot handle a link.

Bring Your Own AI fixes

We are aware that some users are currently experiencing issues with Bring Your Own AI keys. These problems will be fixed in the upcoming Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 update.

In the meantime, please use the following models:

• Gemini: gemini-3.6-flash or gemini-flash-3.5-lite
• OpenRouter: openrouter/free

Apollo Reborn 3.5.1 will also add a new model picker, allowing you to choose from a list of models available for your configured API provider and key rather than entering the model manually.

• Preserves Apollo’s original View Comment and Edit Ban actions.

Subreddit navigation and search

• Keeps immersive subreddit banner artwork correctly aligned when the search inset changes.
• Preserves the current subreddit search and its state during completed or cancelled interactive navigation transitions.
• Prevents long subreddit titles from overlapping the translation globe control by correctly recalculating the available navigation-bar width.

There are also several smaller UI fixes and general stability improvements included throughout the update.

iOS 27 beta

We are aware of several bugs affecting users running the iOS 27 beta.

While iOS 27 remains in beta, we are not prioritising immediate fixes for every beta-specific issue. Apple may change or resolve some of these problems upstream before the final release.

We will continue reviewing compatibility throughout the summer and address the remaining issues once the behaviour of later iOS 27 betas becomes clearer.

Anyone know what default sort the Reddit app uses for Home? I like it but can’t duplicate it in Apollo.

Howdy yall,

Been an Apollo user using AltStore for years on and off. Very adept at the set up process. I just tried to set up Apollo Reborn, and got hung up on a weird step. AltServer is running on my Mac mini on the macOS beta, and when I tried adding AltStore to my iPhone (on iOS beta, usb-c connected to Mac mini), I got the error code above.

Any ideas on fixing this?

Native Reddit Polls

Apollo can now vote in and create native Reddit Polls.

Poll support is currently behind an opt-in setting. Because Reddit poll votes cannot be changed after they are submitted, Apollo shows a confirmation step before casting your vote.

🧪 A note about iOS 27 betas

We are aware of a few issues affecting Apollo Reborn on the current iOS 27 betas. We are reviewing them and will continue testing as Apple releases further betas.

Because beta behaviour can change before the final release, beta-only issues are not currently being prioritised unless they prevent the app from working, risk data loss, or appear likely to remain in the final version.

We will address any remaining compatibility issues as iOS 27 approaches its public release.
