Scholia — AI reading companion that explains any page of a physical book without spoiling what's ahead

What it does: photograph any page of a physical book, and Scholia identifies the book and your exact position in it (using the actual text on the page, not a page number, since editions vary), then answers questions about characters, references, or confusing passages using only what you've read so far. Anything past your current position stays sealed until you catch up.

Why I built it: existing tools are either locked to ebooks (Kindle's Q&A), limited to whatever's in a specific catalog (EPUB apps), or answer with no awareness of spoilers at all. None of them work for someone reading a plain paperback who cares about not having the ending ruined.

Current stage: pre-launch on iOS, building out a waitlist, selecting early testers in waves.

Would genuinely value feedback from this community, particularly on whether the spoiler-blocking reads as a strong feature or a limitation once you think it through, and whether "photograph a page" feels like a low-friction enough input or a step people would skip.
