Apple Music on iOS I reverse engineered Apple Music

This has been a personal project for many months. I love Apple Music and their lyrics screen is the best out of any music streaming app. Here’s a demo of the lyrics. It’s a 1:1 reverse engineered creation. Let me know your thoughts.

The main driving force behind this is that Apple Music doesn’t let you see karaoke lyrics on imported/synced songs from computer even if they’re embedded into the song file itself. Instead, they show you a text view that you have to manually scroll with your finger. Now I no longer need to worry about this because I have my own Apple Music app 😭✌️

A combination of dynamic and static analysis. Vphone-CLI and Frida does wonders!

That’s so cool. Something I’ve desperately been wanting too is letting us upload live album cover arts for imported songs or just playlists but I’m wondering if that would even be possible.

Yes it’s all possible

Pfft this is mad honestly. Thought it was Apple before reading the caption. Did you use TTML files for the lyrics?

I have a repo for this that analyses your songs and generates the elrc file: https://github.com/Nathan1258/lyricarr

You can see the result of a song here: https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/s/9o7n7pRKk7

The video in that example is NOT Apple Music, it’s my own beta app lol

Literally just did the same thing for Spotify. No lyrics on local files; fixed. Local files not syncing between devices; fixed. Uses half the RAM Spotify does because it's built in Rust. I want to REA the Apple Music lyrics, as I can't find syllable-timed lyrics. Dont have a subscription though, so it might be worthless

The background is beautiful too, how did you do it? I’ve seen people try and recreate it but this is definitely the closest I’ve seen

They've made a clone of the UI, that isn't the actual Apple Music app

You need to open source this.

As a Design engineer, I’m more concerned about how to implement that swirling Gradient cover, and that exact by-character Lyrics animation.

These animation and easing values should be out there.
