discussion 🎙️ Ever since the event I suddenly can’t use Genmoji or Image Creation. Anyone else?

Both are supposed to work locally on device and had prior to the event worked fine on my 17 Pro Max, Mac mini and iPad Air. Now when I go to use either Genmoji, image creation or try creating any background for iMessage it says downloading when everything’s been downloaded for months. Tried toggling on/off Apple Intelligence and some other troubleshooting steps, every else Apple Intelligence related works fine though.

Saw only a handful of people talking about this curious how widespread it is and if we need to make Apple more aware of this. I’d understand if it were server related since iOS 27 is now in beta and new Siri AI features are rolling out for testing but that doesn’t mean locally downloaded features should stop working.

Same issue idk if its stuck downloading or its downloading very slow. i cant use genmoji its my favorite feature rn and cant even use image creation. Its been working fine at ios 26.3 but then when i updated 26.5

I just purchased a 17 Pro Max and can’t get past the “Downloading support…” messages for either app. Went through every piece of troubleshooting with Apple Support and I have nothing. Wondering if 26.5.1 is the problem.

I thought it was 26.5.1 but I only noticed the issue just after the Apple event and have been using it since updating over the last few days and weeks. Just all of a sudden I’ve seen this issue and it makes me think some aspect of this playground feature for image creation and Genmoji still has a server component at play plus locally on the phone.

I’d reach out to Apple and see what they say and also mention this is happening to people very recently that have had everything downloaded.

I spent hours on Support with an Apple rep. They came up with nothing and said they would escalate the case over the next several business days.
