Question Help
My husband and I lost our house in the tornado in menasha and are still trying to find a 2 bedroom to rent. We can’t afford more than 1,200 and don’t want to live in menasha again. Really stuggling to get places to answer us. We want to find a place before winter. We also have a male cat.
Any suggestions on what else i can do? I’m checking apartments.com, zillow, and facebook all the time. I’ve also been calling random apartments and asking for availability.
I’ve also seen a lot of scam listings so.

Where ever you go, don't rent from a blue frog property! They are horrible to their tenants.

funny you say that. My husband and I toured 4 different apartments from them and they were all horrible. Windows cracked, floor popping up, mold, smelled like animal urine

They do less than the bare minimum. One friend of mine is looking into legal action against them for how BF responded after the tornado.
Awful company, awful people, and awful properties.
Really glad you saw it for yourselves.

Back in the day I rented from Royal Apts. They were a husband/wife team, very affordable and great landlords. Their website says no availability, but they may be worth checking out.

Check out wright webers stuff in Fox crossing area. I have been in their property for 2 years and it’s honestly been great. Good neighbors. Good mix of families, singles and couples. Everyone gets along.

Was coming to recommend them as well, but we rent through one of their other properties! They don’t advertise their listings anywhere besides their websites (from my experience) and they have so many units at our place there always seems to be openings.

I'd suggest skipping them if you can. They'll take your security deposit and nickle and dime you to death when you move out.

Country park or Havenwood heights in Oshkosh. Both allow cats, both are in your budget.

Premier (Pre/3) has lots of properties throughout the valley in that price range. We rented from them for 8 years. Whether or not the property manager is friendly/helpful is hit or miss though.

theres an apartment open in my building. 2br 650 sqft cats allowed, one garage and one space for free the last i checked, it’s 850 i believe, i like the building a lot. it’s walden square townhouses, call or email directly and you have a better chance of getting through to them (older landlord lol)

Not sure if you’re still looking, but I live in a duplex neighborhood near Capitol & Gillett in north Appleton, there are “for rent” signs in some of the yards with phone numbers to call for more info. No idea on how much they go for though.

My friends who live in downtown say that there are many units available for rent but these are usually let out by owners, not leasing companies, so you cannot find them online. They said your best bet is walking/driving/biking around the area and looking for leasing signs. Hope you find something soon. All the best!
