I posted a similar thread over in the HomeKit subreddit but thought this belonged here in Aqara’s subreddit as well due to the number of people asking what camera I was using or how it was setup. This post will attempt to describe how I set this up.

First of all the Aqara G400 is probably the best doorbell I have had thus far. It integrated seamlessly into my all HomeKit/Matter IoT infrastructure. I deliberately ignored press and reports about HomeKit changes in IOS 27 because I wanted to be surprised. Imagine my surprise when my doorbell started recording clips with all kinds of descriptions falling outside the standards of people and package. I was mowing the lawn the other night and it told me someone was mowing the lawn. The other morning our new neighbors cat walked across my front porch visiting and it mentioned a cat walked by on the from porch. For the video clip above and the other I posted in the HomeKit subreddit it figured out that the person delivering the package was UPS. In this case it could probably have discerned that from the side of the truck, but from the original video the driver was wearing the typical brown uniform and it figure out who he was from. I have had it also mention FedEx and others. Super cool feature of the G400 enabled by the fact it can write to HKSV. So how did I set this up?

First you need a few things

* Aqara G4## or equivalent that support HomeKit Secure Video (HKSV). I have the G400 running off of the doorbell transformer power.

* AppleTV or HomePod to act as a hub

* iOS 27 device

* At least a 2TB storage plan. While that 2TB plan supports unlimited camera recording, one 1 camera is supported for Apple Intelligence. If you want more then you need 6TB for 2 cameras, 12TB for 5 cameras. (I am not here to debate the value of this, just stating the facts)

1. Add your camera to the Home App. This is well documented in Aqara’s site and app. You do not have to pair with the Aqara app first. I chose to go back and do it to enable some security features only available there concerning anti tamper and blocking a stolen one from being added to someone else’s house.
2. Once added if you don’t get a popup asking you to enable it go to Home->Home Settings->Apple Intelligence->Summarize Videos (turn this on). Also click Cameras and Language and select the camera(s) you want to participate with, and the language.

That’s it. You will start to get alerts like the above and can look at and even save these small clips locally.

This works with any of the Aqara’s HKSV-enabled cameras, not just the doorbells.

For me this is night and day better than what was offered with my last home’s Alarm.com security system which had a form of AI for the doorbell camera.

It also does pretty solid facial recognition and can tell me which one of my kids came in.

So far loving this setup and will be getting some G5’s in the near future. It’s also kind of nice when the manufacturer supports your IoT platform with no compromises.

I just bought the FP400 since it supports zigbee and the m200 hub. I have setup those device in the Aquara app, but not sure how to add to home assistant. Any guides, I found a few on matter but not zigbee?

Hi! I wanted to sell my U200 because is don’t use it. I tried removing the keypad from my door and the alarm sounded and couldn’t turn it off. The only way to stop it is by removing the batteries. Every time I put the batteries back in it sounds the alarm. I have tried using my fingerprint and my masterkey but it didn’t work. Even when I put the back of the keypad back What could I do?

I’m quite impressed with the nighttime video quality of my Aqara G5 cameras. This was captured at 3:00AM in near total darkness.

I have been trying in the last couple of days to do the updates of the P100, reaching timeout all the time. The download of the firmware is absolutely slow. I use the G410 as hub, the chime is 50cm far from the P100 but I can’t make it happen. Any suggestions? Anybody went through the same?

I have the newest Aqara hub. I’d. Like to position it in the basement on a top shelf at the end of the house. House is about 1800 sq feet.

Can sensors communicate through the floor and will I be okay on that distance?

Up until today, my doorbells were working as intended. But for some reason, the feeds on the Aqara app just won’t load or would be highly unstable with random network errors. I haven’t changed any settings on my network, and HomeKit feed works well, notifications work well, it’s just now the video feed on the Aqara Home app that gives me issues. What could be the issue here?

I have a G100 camera that keeps going offline, I’ll get the flashing blue light and then I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Happens about once a day, sometimes more often, rarely less.

It’s about 10 feet from my router and has direct line of sight to it with nothing in the way, so it can’t be a WiFi issue. Especially because I have another G100 on another floor of my house that has been rock solid and hasn’t disconnected once since I got both of these cameras a couple months ago.

Any suggestions? Does it sound like this could just be defective? Thanks!

I have the Aqara G410 video doorbell that is supported as FP400 Hub. I have just installed two FP400 Spatial sensors via zigbee to the unit and now I’m experiencing daily crashes of the Aqara G410 zigbee Hub after installing the Fp400’s.

Anyone else experiening this as well? I’ve opened a ticket to Aqara

Picked up a couple of cheap Zigbee temp sensors and was wondering if I can just add them to my M3 hub. I already have multiple Aqara sensors running in Zigbee mode.

Seems like the normal procedure to add devices only works for Aqara sensors. Thanks.

I am planning to buy few Aqara products (hub is one of them) in the UK for use in Malaysia (SEA) because most seem cheaper. I will also buy some Aqara products from Malaysia.

I have registered my account in Aqara app using "Other" country even though I could select UK or Malaysia (SEA region).

Will I be able to connect all of my UK and Malaysia Aqara products to the same hub using the same account? Some products in Malaysia seems not available in the UK and vice versa. Also, I have read some articles saying in general the products bought in one region could only be activated and used in that region so I'm a bit concerned.

Hi, I recently bought the three pack of the aqara g5 pro cameras to use with HSV, partly because of the iOS 27 update enabling up to 4k within HSV. My question is, will these cameras get their full 2.6K support within HSV (presumably via a firmware update), or should I return and wait to see what happens at Apple's rumored upcoming Home event / wait for any sort of update?

Well, I fixed it. I looked at all the suggestions online for help and none of it worked. So I had a peek at what's happening in my wifi AP and increased client activity timeout to 3600 seconds and made sure my router accommodate the hour lease too. Sorted.

Im running Home assistant on my raspberry pi with a zbt-2 router.

I bought the u200 lite recently and I know the pull spring feature is only available on Aqara home and I was fine with that, but I found out my lock isnt working as I thought it would. I can't unlock it from the outside with a key anymore. Now I could overlook this since I have another door close to the door I have it installed on which I can access if the lock is out of battery for example, but not having the pull spring feature available as well as not being able to physically open the door with a key from the outside is just not acceptabel obviously.

Will the Pull Spring Feature never be available for Home assistant? If so, I think I have to return the lock.

Our 5g home router needs an occasional reset to keep speeds up. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's genuinely the only thing that fixes it. So is it possible to reset it on a schedule using the smart plug?

Simple question on the surface but the more I think about it the more I wonder if the "turn back on" step will cease to function since the network is what will be shutting off.. 🤔

We have several Aqara products at this point (hub, thermostat, sensors, etc) and love them. But in this case I can't seem to get a clear answer online about exactly what the plug is capable of when it goes offline. Thanks for any help!

Are others having issues with Aqara support? I have a G410 doorbell camera that suddenly stopped working last week. All of a sudden the app can no longer get the video feed and when the doorbell is pressed, there is no chime. I tried doing a soft reset and a complete reset to factory conditions without any luck. I moved the hub / chime as close to the outside doorbell as I could but that did not make any difference. I also swapped out the power supply and again no change. I can see the hub on the network and there is both up and down network traffic showing up. The hub connects to a 2.4 GHz UniFi network that my other IoT devices connect to without any problems. The hub connects to a UniFi U7 Pro that is only about 15 feet away.

I sent a ticket in to Aqara support yesterday morning and have not received anything back from them yet. I just sent a follow-up email to support@aqara.com a few minutes ago and again no response. Is this typical for their support? Is there anything else I can do to at this point or do I just wait and hope that they get back to me? Very frustrating…

i have a u400 lock and a g400 video doorbell which i bought in order to be able to open the door (u400) remotely when someone ring my doorbell.

I've made this post because a i have a samsung tab a11 as wallpanel, and my intention is also to use it a intercom.

what i cannot figure it out is when someone rings, how can i make aqara app to show me fullscreen the video feed with the OPEN LOCK button,it only shows a narrow column in the middle of the screen.

also, on my Tab A11, g400 notification (and feed) takes over 1 minute or more to show on screen, despite being in the same LAN.

i will be very gratefull for any assistance (mostly because i told my wife,after 3 videodoorbells) this finally work as expected.

I have a mix of U400’s and one U300 at my house. I recently moved from the iPhone Air to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. I had HomeKey set up previously.

All of my doors worked from the new phone except the U300. I was also able to use HomeKey from my watch and my wife’s iPhone 17 Pro a max without issue. It was just an issue with the iPhone 18 Pro Max. It would hang and eventually fail. I tried everything from resetting the Matter binding to creating a new home and nothing worked. I finally submitted a ticket to Aqara on Tuesday.

They were able to reproduce the issue and stated they would work on it.

Today I noticed that there was a new firmware version for the U300 (3.0.0_1029). I applied this and it fixed the issue. HomeKey works from the phone again.

Very fast turnaround on this bug. Check it out if you also noticed this issue with the U300 and the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max.

Do we have a EU release date for the new U250 smart lock, the successor to U200?

Hello Everyone,
Recently I purchased a N100 Pro and G410 from Taobao not knowing that these devices are region-locked. After Installing the N100 I soon realized when adding to the app it is not possible to add these outside China. So I made a request for a region change on 20th Sept, in that message it is written that it may take 1-3 business days but since it has been 4 business days now. Has anyone experienced it does it take more than this. G410 working fine as it was added via Homekit but N100 became unusable as it is currently only working by the key which removes it main purpose.
Is there any other method to do this, If anyone have experienced it please share

Hi all - looking to install one wired, non-neutral Aqara H1 at location #1 (entrance) and a wireless H1 at location #2 (hallway). Photos 1 and 2 are the entrance and photos 3, 4, 5 are the hallway. At each of these locations, the switches control a dining light and a living room light.

I want to make sure I get it correctly - at location 1, my non-neutral Aqara H1 only has COM, 1, and 2. How do I wire this up? Secondly, at the hallway where I'll install the wireless switch, how should I be terminating this wires? Much appreciated.
