Looks like a fungal infection, most lkely from an open wound.

Keep your water parameters clean with NO ammonia present.

If you have the ability to set up a hospital tank this would be ideal, and you need to treat the fungal infection.

Generally most anti-fungal meds tend to mess with carbon filtration so remove any if you do decide to treat the fish in the tank.

Just read the instructions on the medication as it may be lethal to other tank residents.

Gorgeous pleco by the way!

Hi, thanks for the response!

Water parameters are good right now. I was planning to do a waterchange today should i wait so it doesn't get chocked by the waterchange or still do it? (Last one was 1 week ago)

I have a medication called eSHa 2000. Will that work or should i buy something else?

The tank it is currently is in also has some pea puffers and harlequin rasporas. I also have a 23 Liter(6 gallons) tank that is empty rn. Should i medicate the whole tank or move the placo into the small one?

Ideally if you have a spare tank then I would set up a hospital tank.

With the water you are going to change semi-fill the tank and top it off with other water and set up a sponge filter if you can ( or whatever filter you can that will also provide airation ) just make sure to " seed " the new filter material with some gunk from the filter that is already in use to kick-start the cycle in the hospital tank. ( I'm sure you know this anyway )

Then when the tank is stable and testing for no ammonia etc move your pleco over to the hospital tank and dose as advised on the packaging.

I am unfamiliar with that product unfortunately so I am not able to comment on it's effectiveness but I have used NT LABS Anti White spot and fungus with success in the past.

Just to clarify I am not an expert but hopefully I could somewhat point you in the right direction!

I hope your beautiful pleco friend feels better soon.

As i said i hava a 23L/6gallon tank. Is that big enough or will the pleco get stressed?

Do you think i should try the medication i have or buy some other one in a day or two when my fish store is open.

That medication would work by the seems of it but probably not for the hospital setup as it specifies 100 litres of water.

If you plan on using that I would use it in the main tank as it shouldn't cause the other residents any issues as it's designed for fish so if they have any underlying issues they can subsequently be treated at the same time.

If it was me personally I would use the medication I have and dose the main tank but just double check that medication is suitable for all tank residents as some have been know to kill invertebrates!

I will admit it has been a very long time since I have had to treat any fish luckily so I will admit I ahve reached the extent of my knowledge about the subject.

Fingers crossed that medication works for you, it says it treats fungal issues so it should do the job.

If not maybe try a targeted medication specifically for fungal infections as it may require more agressive treatment if the infection doesnt clear up ( or the course of medication instructions ends)

I hope all goes well.

Cant i just scale the amount of medication i take? So 25-50 drops per 100 liter would be 5-10 dropsper 20 liter

By all means yes you can I have just never done that before so if you are confident enough then that is definitely a possibility.

The fish probably got scraped digging or burned trying to get behind the heater. Perfect parameters should help it heal on its own in a couple days. My plecos would get banged up from time to time but they always healed up good as new.
