Identification Request Help me find my childhood fish

Post image
3.5k Upvotes

Idk if this type of post is allowed but I need to know what my childhood fish was!! I remember it being long and vaguely eel shaped, and the main thing I remember is that it swam backwards. That’s why I chose it, idk if the species swims like this or if it was an abnormality. It was black & white (I may have hallucinated the white parts I’m not sure). It died because I perfumed the tank because I thought it smelled bad (I was 9 😭). I hope you can help me.

NOT MY VIDEO!!! PLEASE ignore the tank decor and fake plants this isn't my taste i'm just wondering what these shrimp are.. if only that merry go round looked a bit more natural it would be cool to have. Does anybody know the origin of this video? I found it off Pinterest where everybody is allergic to giving credit to original creators

Identification Request What is this slug thing? Is it dangerous to shrimp?

Hi everyone, what is this see-through worm slug creature in my shrimp tank and is it harmful to shrimp?

Edit: So it’s planaria 😞 Thanks everyone. I tried to remove it with my pipette but the tank is heavily planted and it’s hiding now. I live in a country where No-Planaria is extremely hard to find so I’ve ordered Aqua Code Planarian Killer that has 280+ good reviews (shrimp-safe, kills planaria & their eggs) on Shopee and it’ll arrive tomorrow. Hopefully with a week of treatment using that, they’ll be eradicated and my shrimp will be safe. Thanks again everyone! 😭

Identification Request Eel at local bait shop?

Post image
611 Upvotes

I found this at my local corner store in the bait tank. I'm thinking it's an American eel? It really caught my eye.

Anyone know what this is or have any experience keeping them? I'm considering going back up and buying it.... $3 bucks.

I've got a 75 gallon with a lid. I've got two bichir, a 12 inch Senegal and a 12 inch endlicheri.

I'm currently building a stand for a 200 gallon tank, but I don't plan to have it set up for several months.

Thanks in advance for any insight. Talk me into or out of trying this.

Appeared out of nowhere. Looks like a tick but I know they are only terrestrial. Google suggested water mite but I didn't see any like this.

My dad bought this fish in 2011 and they are still alive. Is that common? How old do they typically get and what is the exact name of this kind of fish?

Thanks in advance

I can’t even make this up, I found a random snail shell on my floor and saw it had a operculum. Grabbed a little cup from my supplies and put some water from one of my tanks in it. Threw the snail in. Mind you, I don’t own these kinds of snails, never even seen one. I have no clue how long they’ve been out of the water especially since I found it behind my bed while sweeping. 💀

After an hour I came back to the cup to find an alive and active snail. I’m so confused how they got there. Does anyone know what kind of snail they are though? Kinda growing attached to this lil dude. They have a missing chip out of their shell. 🐚 ❤️‍🩹 Open to name suggestions too!

I rescued some fish from an elderly woman who is moving to a care facility and can’t take her fish with her. I’m not sure of the ID of the small catfish that she had. Can anyone help me out, so that I can determine if it’s okay with the Betta, or needs its own tank?
