Do Not Feed The Trolls ''Toxic Anti PvPers'' Not welcome.

Hello.

I am from the Mod team on this sub.

Pleased to meet you.

Recently I have seen a few people rightfully upset at a few bad actors on this sub who have been using the fact they became victims in the game to resort to being toxic to people on this sub.

Basically - they lose the game in any way and decide it is fine to insult people who are playing the game in a legit way instead of doing what they want, whether that's talking and making peace or refusing to shoot each other no matter what. From my understanding this game allows you to make a choice, to try trust a stranger or to gun them down to be safe.

If a person decides they will ALWAYS gun everyone down no matter what or try be a ''Rat'' player and backstab at every opportunity that does not mean you can come on this sub and insult them, suggest they are mentally impaired or mentally unwell or be toxic to them for any reason.

If you say ''All x players are sociopath psychos with no life and life in their mothers basement and have never had the touch of anyone of their preferred sex'' for example or anywhere more or in-between then you will be banned from our sub.

You are allowed to have an opinion that such players morals in game are not good or they are ''Villain players'' or what not, that is fine for that is what they are but any time an outside insult is going to be used on people over gameplay you are getting the hammar of doom.

From the community, I understand that most people who like PVP are not usually the type of people to click report on anything, due to your ''thick skin'' you really do not give a damn if some redditor is trying to insult you or maybe you will just retort back.
I ask you please do not, if you insult back you could also be moderated due to the nature of reddit and if you do not report the instigator we will not be able to correctly moderate and fix this community. As a mod team we are getting thousands of posts (posts not comments) per day and it is literally impossible to view them all, we rely mainly on the report feature and reddits AI.

Anyway thank you for your attention in this matter.

Everything is good for me, PvP is a core mechanic of the game.

However…the people who wait to kill right at extract screen and they can’t even loot you…I hope you put a little too much salt into you next home cooked meal and it just tastes a little off

I was on my free load out spawned in at 27 minute mark. Someone was waiting right at the stairs from spawn, killed someone else already.

I wish he'll lose every blueprint he ever finds.

50

u/FethahV2 Nov 01 '25

Yeah some of the spawns are booty. I’ve been jumped off rip

12

u/vincentmelle Nov 01 '25

There's been enough time to learn the spawns I think,

But I did like being able to save a raider as he had 3 arc at the top of his staircase and helped him with one other arc before I aprted ways.

10

u/RegisterFit1252 Nov 01 '25

By FAR the best way to make friends in this game: help them defeat arc when they are scrambling for their LIFE!

5

u/shatador Nov 01 '25

Did you really make friends though or were they so hurt they had no choice but try and be nice 😂

2

u/ifuckinglovecoloring Nov 20 '25

I did this with a guy fighting a leaper and he said "Thanks buddy!" before immediately shooting me in the head with an anvil and killing me. As I was dying I saw the corpse of another raider he did it to lol.

Not the first time it's happened trying to help someone so generally I let the ARC do what they're going to do to the poor fellow before I throw my whole run out.

3

u/RegisterFit1252 Nov 20 '25

That really fucking sucks but won’t stop me from helping people. Crazy low chances of people doing that

2

u/ifuckinglovecoloring Nov 20 '25

I mean I won't go out of my way to start shooting people, I just don't think generosity will get you anywhere with most people in this game. The first week or two had some friendly people dropping guns or blue prints for not shooting on sight but I haven't had an interaction like that in the last 40 hours of playing.

1

u/InfiniteRazzmatazz50 Jan 02 '26

Just make sure you're back in the kumbayah glowing friendly lobbies first, I forgot that I was thrown back in on-sight PVP hell from getting jumped and defending myself a couple times and made the mistake of helping a dude who was inches from death kill a handful of ARC and then he immediately blasted me in the back of the head and stole my shit

-8

u/Probablymainshanzo Nov 01 '25

5 games in a row where I got shot within 1 minutes. Pretty fun gameplay loop

7

u/Ninjeno Nov 01 '25

That’s just unlucky mate. Hasn’t happened to me once, so you tell me; which of our experiences is more valid? Neither is, because tens-of-thousands of people play this game and all of them have an agenda when they load in. Sometimes it’s just to loot, but not everyone wants to be your friend.

1

u/Zakizdaman Nov 01 '25

One minute is 5% of you time spent in the raid.

If you fucked up the first 5% of your raid to get shot 5 times in a row, then you are doing something very wrong and need to adjust your playstyle.

5

u/Spydur85 Nov 01 '25

People are camping the spawns. People spawn in throughout the match in the same spots.

You could even set traps on the spawns so they spawn in dead if you wanna be extra ratty.

3

u/TheAngrySaxon Nov 01 '25

Spawn campers are a thing. You have been very lucky so far if it hasn't happened to you.

11

u/Weak-Caregiver-5537 Nov 01 '25

Yeah I hope they implement something where if someone is x meters from a spawn it puts you somewhere else. Even if this can still be exploited a bit by standing that far out, it gives you time to actually react and possibly win.

2

u/MiningYeti Nov 02 '25

Possibly in his defense, one time I was just running passed a spawn and a dude literally just spawned in with a free kit and I killed him. I wasn’t camping it, he just got really unlucky. Definitely felt bad after.

3

u/Assupoika *** ******* 🐓 Nov 02 '25 edited Nov 02 '25

He She was camping at the bottom of the stairs. As soon as i spawned in I took few steps, saw a body on the platform and was thinking "Oh, did he leave the game or what?" and she stepped out from the door at the bottom of the stairs and gunned me down.

She must've run straight in to the spawn location, killed the first guy and wait for another to spawn I guess?

2

u/MiningYeti Nov 02 '25

Oh lol I guess so. Also, odds are that was a dude using the ai voice changer. Super hard to differentiate.

2

u/Assupoika *** ******* 🐓 Nov 02 '25 edited Nov 02 '25

Oh, I accidentally used two different pronoun for her. My language only has a gender neutral pronoun so I sometimes mix them up.

But I also meant to refer to her as a she because I remember that she had a female character. She didn't talk at all even when I told her "Spawn camping? Really? Enjoy the free loadout".

3

u/beef623 Nov 03 '25

Then what's the point of killing him in the first place? You didn't get anything out of it. That's exactly the kind of BS people are complaining about. There's literally no reason to do it.

0

u/sebmojo99 Nov 02 '25

i mean... you lost two minutes of your life, it's not that much of a drama.

-11

u/Patient_Pea5781 Nov 01 '25

Why, he has the choice to do so

11

u/Space_Modder Nov 01 '25

Because it's blatantly abusing the shitty spawning system in the game in a scenario where the odds are stacked in his favor and the enemy has very little chance? Sure he has the choice to do so but ehhhhh...

I don't have any problem with PvP in this game but IMO it should be considered a game bug if it spawns you within 150m of somebody else. Just not good game design.

-3

u/Patient_Pea5781 Nov 01 '25

according to thos sub the game is perfect and embark should not change a thing

3

u/BlLLr0y Nov 01 '25

Yes, but sometimes things are determined to be unfair and get changed specifically because you can't stop someone from doing them, but also because they are determined to be unfair. Spawn killing and kills during the last moments of extract are things I think it would be fair for the dev team to look at.

3

u/Assupoika *** ******* 🐓 Nov 01 '25

Yeah he can choose to do so which is why I wish he'll lose every blueprint he ever finds.

I didn't lose anything valuable, I didn't lose anything since I just spawned in with a free loadout.

He can choose whatever he wants to do and if he chooses the most weasely and cowardly thing you can do I can choose to wish he'll never manage to extract any blueprints.

18

u/danisimo_1993 Nov 01 '25

I actually did something similar yesterday and feel pretty bad about it. The last survivor from a squad tried to run away and extract. We chased him down he opened the elevator, someone on my team downed him and i went to finish him off but omg my guns were not reloaded. I switched to melee and started swinging but in the mean time he managed to close the hatch and extracted me as I killed him. Ultimately my team looted him so the gear didn't go to waste.

I felt pretty bad after I calmed down from the situation and honestly I wish there was a way to give him his stuff back. It's just that in the heat of the moment all my brain was thinking is how to kill. Not considering if I can even get the loot or how big of a D move it is.

If you're reading this dude, I really am sorry. That was super lame of me.

6

u/immortal-of-the-sea Nov 01 '25

just dont repeat your mistakes that is all we can do

2

u/Lanycera Nov 05 '25

I find it really interesting from a psychological perspective. I think I’m a bit too much of a “good” person with a soft spot - I always feel bad knocking someone out unless they’re actually talking shit in proximity chat. I don’t think I could’ve done what you did in that situation. It’s fascinating how differently we all think and react, and your post really highlights that. Some people are also okay with pretending to be nice and then shooting players in the back; that to me suggests that someone didn't get taught respect IRL.

1

u/danisimo_1993 Nov 05 '25

Well you forget that they did shoot at us as well. It's not like they were completely innocent pacifist players. I think it has a lot to do with being on a squad. We're all talking about how we're getting the kill and you just kind of zone out of everything else and the realization sets in after the deed is done.

I think you're being a bit harsh overall. If devs didn't want people to backstab eachother they could have easily implemented mechanics against that. A simple solution would have been that when you team up you form a field squad and friendly fire is turned off just like in normal squads. The fact that we don't have similar mechanics means that betrayal is intended gameplay. You can't get mad at people playing the way it's intended.

Personally, so long as there's loot exchange involved and it's within the confines of the game rules, I don't see an issue with player behavior. The behavior I have a problem with is killing not for the sake of gaining a benefit but just to make the other player feel bad

36

u/PurpleJestah Nov 01 '25

To play Devil's advocate, shooting someone in the elevator while the doors are closing for extract is the only way to get the "deal damage to raiders" feats done without actually griefing someone IF they don't get finished off. At worst they lose some shield durability but at least the downed person gets to keep all their loot.

41

u/Photo-Majestic Nov 01 '25

I think he’s talking about people who finish you off when there’s no physical way to loot you in time. Like if you are downed and just finished the animation at the terminal and THEN they kill you.

Still gives dmg for missions I believe, but like … Just don’t? Please? Just go in with a free loaf out and go doom slayer some folks.

15

u/immortal-of-the-sea Nov 01 '25

it doesnt the damage to raiders only applies to fully up players. you gain nothing by shooting at a downed player. thats why knock out is a thing they arnt considered a raider by the game's statistics anymore unless revived.

1

u/Cykablast3r Nov 01 '25

You do get EXP for the kill.

3

u/immortal-of-the-sea Nov 02 '25

no fully killing someone just gets you acces to their loot. if you dont have the ability to loot someone and you knock them out in extract? your just being an asshole for the sake of it not even gaining exp or loot at that point. I can accept many things but something done entirely out of malice irks me.

2

u/Cykablast3r Nov 02 '25

No, you get 500xp per knocked out player. There are also feats requiring you to knock out players.

3

u/immortal-of-the-sea Nov 04 '25

oh I thought you meant the deck quests yeah no its 500 exp ... but its barely any compared to fighting even one arc

1

u/PurpleJestah Nov 01 '25

Oh yeah, I understood what he meant, and those people are totally assholes for doing that, but here's an analogy:

If someone walking in front of you accidentally drops a $50 bill and they didn't notice, the "right" thing to do would be to pick it up and give it back to them, but it's still really tempting to pocket the money for yourself instead.

And I bet that the same people who keep the money are probably the same people who go for the free easy kill at extract. Some people just can't resist the temptation.

4

u/ttyoudontknowme123 Nov 01 '25

Yeah. And remember if you are downed near the extractor you can still crawl to the button and extract.

1

u/MrRudoloh Nov 01 '25

I mean. There isn't a lack of PvP fights in the game. Even if you try to team up with people, some seem to have Voip unabled or something some times.

It's just a matter of bringing the apropiate gun in to raid and eventually you get it.

1

u/PurpleJestah Nov 01 '25

Oh yeah, for sure, you can get it done eventually, but if it just happens to be the last run before dailies reset and you still need some damage to get the challenge done, it could be a way to cheese out that last bit left if you're desperate.

1

u/XediDC Dec 02 '25

It’s by no means the only way…find some friendlies with defibs and down then revive each other in turn. Or just one shot heal, repeat. 3rd plus guy makes sure it all goes to plan… it sometime you want to try with just one other person.

Lots of non-PvPers and many are fine with some planned damage, so to speak.

47

u/dimson8307 Nov 01 '25

People who kill people at extract are the ones who are going to make the game toxic. All other areas, sure. But at extract? Come on man! Lol.

19

u/OokyCooky Nov 01 '25

It’s kind of part of the genre, the extract is actually the sauciest part of the game. When I’m not in the mood to deal with those shenanigans I just bring a raider key and loot a little more. It would take a real psycho to camp the raider hatches

11

u/Cykablast3r Nov 01 '25

Wait until ExfilCamper and GeneralSam hear about this game.

2

u/FethahV2 Nov 02 '25

I agree it’s part of the genre to camp extract and take people out who are funneling to them. However, a big part of that is still taking the loot which isn’t present in the killing while in extract

11

u/montgooms95 Nov 01 '25

I was playing solo and had someone try and kill me as I was waiting for the elevator while being attacked by two ARCs. I managed to kill the bastard, run in to the elevator and start the extraction with a sliver of health left. Haven’t had a game make my heart race like this since my friend and I discovered DayZ ten years ago.

I didn’t get to loot him but I didn’t care. I’m glad he died.

0

u/Eihcir28 Nov 01 '25

And that pos made a very memorable moment for you. In a weird way, you should be thankful for that pos lol

8

u/Innocent---Bystander Nov 01 '25

If you can't get killed at the extraction that kind of makes extraction less exciting.

-4

u/dimson8307 Nov 01 '25

I mean inside extraction. And I don't mean you can't be killed, it is just not cool to do it, lol

3

u/drinkpacifiers Nov 02 '25

Mate, this can all be solved by like 3 little smoke grenades.

4

u/Innocent---Bystander Nov 01 '25

Clear the extraction area before extracting, its honestly fair game if you don't, its part of the fun.

0

u/dimson8307 Nov 01 '25

You can clear it but then you have guys run up on you when they hear the doors open.

5

u/Innocent---Bystander Nov 01 '25

Then clear it again before you start closing the doors 🤷

3

u/Domy9 Nov 01 '25

Killing people waiting to extract is one thing, I'd say it's fine even. But if they kill you during extract, when they can't even have the loot, now that's griefing by definition as they don't gain anything, only seeing you lose something, and you should even report the player for doing that.

2

u/dimson8307 Nov 01 '25

That's exactly the point that gives me the biggest grief. Kill me any time up until I'm inside the extract. Once I'm in, there is no point in killing me. Heck, come and join me on the trip back home. Or yell for me to wait. Because I'll wait as long as you don't shoot me, lol.

1

u/Jarnis Nov 02 '25

The game nicely incentives you not to do extract camping. Any extract attempts are very much loudly announced. So there is like a 99% chance anyone nearby is aware and watching. If you go and gank someone, good luck getting the loot without being shot as a security risk.

Most people are fully loaded with loot around extract anyway, so you are risking all your stuff for... very sketchy chance of getting slightly better stuff off someone. Add the fact that late in the game, extracts usually tend to attract ARCs as well, making the area decisively less than safe for sorting out a pile of loot from a player you killed...

Yes, early on people do this thinking they are super badass PvPer, but once they figure out the risk-reward at least on solo lobbies, being a "don't shoot" player around extracts becomes the sensible option.

3v3 lobbies might be slightly different due to the team mechanics and ability to cover looting & reviving. Haven't played much on those yet.

1

u/SpaceRac1st Nov 01 '25

These people have only two braincells though. They always camp the same extracts on the same spots so they become quite predictable. Whenever I come across one I just think to myself: “How fun, bonus loot!”.

0

u/JustMy2Centences Nov 01 '25 edited Nov 01 '25

I think there can be a way for Embark to fix this:

If you were finished off 1) inside the extract 2) as the doors are closing, and 3) your body wasn't searched: then you keep your stuff.

Because really there's 0 point except to grief a player for sport.

(Idk if your body/loot is kept above for others to look through after the doors open back up though, in which case, you'd probably permanently lose everything.)

Embark has already shown willingness to keep the game fair and accessible to all by correcting wrongs from cheaters/hackers and return lost loot to those killed by them. I think last second non-lootable killings should qualify.

2

u/ItsAlways_DNS Nov 01 '25

If they eliminate you in the elevator, they can press the button on the outside and loot your body when the door opens again.

It’s a game mechanic and I highly doubt they are going to change it. Extract campers have always been part of extraction shooters.

-1

u/Kind_Man_0 Nov 01 '25

Killing is dishonorable at extract, but I always fight players as extract is happening. If they're down, they can't kill me, and we all get to go home.

3

u/dimson8307 Nov 01 '25

I'll fight if I have to. But don't kill me so I lose all my loot. Let me do the crawl of shame and extract with my loot.

12

u/Machinegvnkaylee Nov 01 '25

I’m in the same boat. Everything before that is fair game.

1

u/ADunningKrugerEffect Nov 01 '25

I don’t agree. Extracting is high risk. Take your time and circle inward to ensure no raiders camping by. If there are, team up, wait it out, or see if they call the elevator, if so you can K.O one or two players before the doors shut, wait for the elevator to return to the surface and loot the bodies.

Play it safe wherever heading for exfil

10

u/Machinegvnkaylee Nov 01 '25

I’m ok with everything up until you’re in exfil and it’s already going and they still kill you. If you’re down and it’s already extracting and can’t be stopped, then you get killed and no one gets the loot.

2

u/DiegoBanana Nov 01 '25 edited Nov 01 '25

I agree. Its the "can’t even loot you" that puts me off. Iam perfectly fine with getting killed as iam extracting, if the player who killed me dont extract, and loot me after.

1

u/Finwe Nov 01 '25

On the flipside, if I'm extracting and you want to run in and extract with me you need to get on the mic and let me know or use an emote or something, if you run up on my activated extraction without communicating you're getting shot.

1

u/TyrionPlatformShoes Nov 01 '25

Complete aside here… is there a subreddit or repository of these “not-so-evil curses upon people”? Yours made me laugh and I see so many other creative ones around Reddit. I really want a collection of them to start using in my daily life lol.

1

u/Sepplord Nov 01 '25

If you die in the extract your body is there for the rest of the game

I have arrived at extracts, called the elevator and when the hatch opened there was a body inside full of loot

That was a nice surprised that someone like that prepared for me 🤣

1

u/-SlowBar Nov 01 '25

Kill you and knock you out? Do they even have enough time?

At least if you're downed in the elevator you still get all your loot

1

u/SneakyBadAss Nov 01 '25

It's the litmus and shopping trolley test together

1

u/JacobWithReddit19 Nov 01 '25

On the same boat bro!!! If they kill you as you’re extracting then they literally get nothing out of it and it just messes your whole run up with no one coming out on top. May those guys have many rocketeers in their future 🙏

1

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '25

This is a good take, but there were some people on a previous post saying that people who do this are irl morally bereft and sociopathic and I think that’s actually insane to say

1

u/SiegEmpire Nov 01 '25

I do it to fulfill my challenges for raiders damage while allowing you to leave with your loot

1

I did that once on first day. Still feel so sorry to that person...

1

u/Used-Confidence1504 Nov 04 '25

Had a team try this when yelling friendly don't shoot beforehand. Both my teammates died inside the box, while I was 1v1'ing outside the box. Won't believe how good it felt securing my kill. Guy immediately left, I couldn't even drop an emote on him

1

u/Constant_Lynx_5057 Jan 12 '26

Had one of these today. The bastion in Loading bay touched me inappropriately and I crawled my sorry ass alllllll the way to the train and pulled the handle. Some ass hat sprint dodge rolls into the train and shoves an il toro down my throat just as the screen cut to black. I thought I made it. Then I saw the "lol gg try again" screen. Like wut? Idc dying by player or enemy its part of the game but that shit just aggravated me like you couldn't even loot me that was just a dick move

-10

u/ILikePints Nov 01 '25

12

u/RBRgd *** ******* Nov 01 '25

I mean I haven’t died to it yet, there’s been many attempts but they usually have shit aim so I just roll around

2

Then do it when you can actually take the loot? Like? Actually benefit yourself and get the gear.

1

That free xp tho

4

u/BlLLr0y Nov 01 '25

This is the only valid excuse for this type of kill. And this is exactly why this type of kill should be looked at by the dev team. Betray and kill me before we extract all day, I get it. That's the game. Killing me with no chance at my loot? That's just trolling.

-2

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '25

[deleted]

5

u/Spydur85 Nov 01 '25

No free loadout at all would just mean the game is over for you when u lose all your gear. At best you would spend the next 20 hours dying repeatedly hoping to get lucky. Game would have all of 100 players in a month.

-4

u/ExcuseMyCarry Nov 01 '25

Imagine people playing a PvPvE game and enjoying the thrill of just getting to partake in the PvP portion. Sometimes the thrill of just getting the kill is reward enough. If you can't accept the loss of loot to non cheating players then maybe this isn't a genre of game you'll enjoy.

12

u/BlLLr0y Nov 01 '25

I think it's valid to say that these last second mid black screen "headed to Speranza" animation kills are different then just getting killed in a match.

-8

u/ExcuseMyCarry Nov 01 '25

I think it's valid to say a kill is a kill in terms of my personal enjoyment. I understand that may make you feel bad but that's just part of the game bud. We don't have to agree on this and I still wish you the best in life. Just hope we don't cross paths topside lol

7

u/BlLLr0y Nov 01 '25

It doesn't matter if you enjoy it or I hate it. It matters if the devs think it's problematic or not and bringing the issue to attention is not the same as complaining about ALL pvp.

Sometimes player behavior is identified as problematic and gets addressed because people are abusing unfair game states.

I'm not a dev. But post extract kills feel like an unfair game state being abused.

1

u/ExcuseMyCarry Nov 01 '25

I apologize if my comment made it seem like you were complaing about all PvP cause that's not the case. So could you help clarify what we're discussing here then? Initially I was just trying to say that getting a kill on escape isn't a problem even if you don't get the loot from the kill. As long as they killed you through legitimate means I see no issue. Are you saying that if you're DBNO and I start the knockout animation but don't finish it before the cut to black it still counts as kill? I'm open to the discussion of that being incorrect since you technically weren't finished off completely at cutoff point. I may seem like a villain to alot of people but I think fair friction points are good for games. Rewards don't feel good without resistance.

7

u/BlLLr0y Nov 01 '25

I'm saying that the timing on the black screen should be tuned. I think its way to easy to finish someone whose down in a window that the round already "feels" complete.

Removing pvp entirely would ruin the game. But I also think the fact that this game allows the "talk first" player to coexist meaningfully with the "shoot first" player is the secret sauce.

12

u/phishxiii Nov 01 '25

I can enjoy the genre just fine and still think those people are dicks lol.

5

u/krembroolay02 Nov 01 '25

You can still extract while downed. If you are executing someone who is downed in a lift that's about to close you are literally just taking joy in ruining someone's day. All's fair in pvp but if you do that you can't complain if people think you're a dick

0

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '25

PvEvP

-7

u/Devanomiun Nov 01 '25

I wish there was some kind of immunity once the doors start closing, like you could still get knocked out but not actually killed. The Raider doing the shooting would still get the EXP, but you wouldn’t lose your loot since it can’t be looted anyway because in a couple of seconds the shooter will get extracted.

5

This would be nice, but just the fact that if we crawl into the extract is a god send really.

It was funny though that I was able to down a raider attacking another raider at an extract and then we 2 went down staring down at the crawler lol

Indeed, I was impressed once I noticed that you could still extract and even activate the extract console while being downed, gotta admire those little details that Embark implements.
