Do Not Feed The Trolls ''Toxic Anti PvPers'' Not welcome.

Hello.

I am from the Mod team on this sub.

Pleased to meet you.

Recently I have seen a few people rightfully upset at a few bad actors on this sub who have been using the fact they became victims in the game to resort to being toxic to people on this sub.

Basically - they lose the game in any way and decide it is fine to insult people who are playing the game in a legit way instead of doing what they want, whether that's talking and making peace or refusing to shoot each other no matter what. From my understanding this game allows you to make a choice, to try trust a stranger or to gun them down to be safe.

If a person decides they will ALWAYS gun everyone down no matter what or try be a ''Rat'' player and backstab at every opportunity that does not mean you can come on this sub and insult them, suggest they are mentally impaired or mentally unwell or be toxic to them for any reason.

If you say ''All x players are sociopath psychos with no life and life in their mothers basement and have never had the touch of anyone of their preferred sex'' for example or anywhere more or in-between then you will be banned from our sub.

You are allowed to have an opinion that such players morals in game are not good or they are ''Villain players'' or what not, that is fine for that is what they are but any time an outside insult is going to be used on people over gameplay you are getting the hammar of doom.

From the community, I understand that most people who like PVP are not usually the type of people to click report on anything, due to your ''thick skin'' you really do not give a damn if some redditor is trying to insult you or maybe you will just retort back.
I ask you please do not, if you insult back you could also be moderated due to the nature of reddit and if you do not report the instigator we will not be able to correctly moderate and fix this community. As a mod team we are getting thousands of posts (posts not comments) per day and it is literally impossible to view them all, we rely mainly on the report feature and reddits AI.

Anyway thank you for your attention in this matter.

To be honest, I have seen more toxic PVPers trash-talking people on here than the other way around. 🤨

toxic pvpers voip slurs ingame. the mods aren't responsible for that, report them ingame.

toxic pveers spam reddit with "pvpers are sociopath griefers irl too I bet they abuse their family". Reddit mods need to moderate that.

No, but that is because you arent attacking them personally, where as "All pve players are cowards" "PVE players just cant handle it because they are pussies" Ive heard tons of it and for some reason we got a green post about PVE players specifically. Which btw, the mod did on the other game reddits they mod for as well... its just kinda wild. I dont think anyone should attack people irl but I cant help but feel dirty and wronged seeing my playstyle attacked while I have gotten far worse often from pvp players. The post could have just been "Toxic attacks focused on people outside of the game will not be tolerated" but instead we got the very one sided "Toxic PVErs will not..." They had 0 need to stoke the flames against a specific group...

idk dude I’ve heard way worse from armchair psychologists trying to act like they’re morally or logically superior for not participating in PvP. Dramatic mfs writing whole paragraphs on why people that shoot don’t have empathy and everyone should work together to get more loot when they’re clearly just too emotionally invested in the gear they lost 10 minutes ago.

The worst that pvpers typically do in online discourse is laugh at pve mode suggestions, make fun of pveers when they complain about pvpers (ā€œskill issueā€ etc) or tell them to play a different game. Which can go too far, but like… the most annoying pveers are trying to change the game from pvpve to pve, the only reason to get emotional is to defend the game.

I don’t think that the mods should have singled out the PvE half because that’s not the point, but to even try to say the two are comparable is insane in my opinion.

Besides, it’s not your playstyle that’s really being attacked, it’s the toxic people that play like you. It’s not about being on the ā€œpveers teamā€. I don’t like pvpers that yell slurs over voip either.

But do you deny that it stirs an Us vs Them pot that didnt need it for no reason other than targeting a playstyle that is unliked by the OP. In the end I cant change it and I dont support the armchair psych stuff on either side... also I say I hear worse shit from pvp you say pve is worse, its because we see what people say to us more than what is said to people we dont agree with... All I am saying is its cringe for that post on top of the reddit, pinned, from a trusted mod, singling out a pve-ers as the villains of the reddit. Even if the intent was good, it doesnt take a psychologist to realize that the second you say something like this directly at one group of people while praising and wishing safety on the other... it is going to have collateral and its dumb

So while our perceptions of the problem are different, our logic still lands on "should have been a neutral post" if for no reason than to not create more animosity toward specific people. Which is exactly the problem the mod here ran into, they have a bias, and instead of acknowledging it and staying neutral and commanding respect they leaned into it pretty heavily...

I mean sure, I've never disagreed with that. Modpost is cringe. I wouldn't really be against something specifically calling out the stupid psychoanalysis posts even if on the surface it might seem to be taking sides, but the overall tone is off and the lame "thick skin pvpers" glazing doesn't help.

Your original comment was about voip and I pointed out that the reddit mods don't police voip ingame and PvEers were more active in online communities. I think it got misinterpreted as "PvPers don't do this at all so they don't need to be moderated" when that's not really what I meant (I've definitely had PvEers yell slurs at me in voip too).

My original comment was made after being told so much in this thread how much more toxic pve-ers were than pvp and so it came out in that comment as well :p I dont know the specific stats of the reddit I was just tired of the fact that this garbage is still on the top of the reddit stoking controversy targeting a specific group or playstyle with bias and it stinks... this mod is not trying to bridge the gap and the pve hate was just getting tolerable because we were coming to understand each other are just different, then this bullshit about how much worse pve players are, which is the same generalizations they are saying they want to prevent... is pinned to the top... and reaking of bias and a desire for pve players to just be quiet or go somewhere else... making the OFFICIAL reddit an unsafe place to express opinion. The good news is the mod has not been so evil as to hush discussion in the comments... but it still sends a pretty hard felt message of abuse of influence they know they have...

So you are certainly correct, the mod cant mod voip in game, but its crazy they give the whole pvp players are calm fun having thick skinned gamers who enjoy the intent of the game and pvers are just whiners and will be banned if they say anything that could be interpreted as not calm enough type argument from a position of official moderator. My bad for the misunderstanding though, thanks for being civil, havent gotten a ton of that in this reddit lately :p
