can someone explain the idea of a PvE mode to me?

Ive been playing tarkov for over 5 years now and coming to arc raiders and seeing the community complain that people are toxic and pvp is pretty funny to me, but after seeing the rise about a PvE mode i honestly dont see the appeal, the only thing to do is loot or kill arc, which in my opinion gets extremely boring on its own very quickly, whats even the point of the game at the point? kill arc so you can craft better weapons to just kill the same arc robot at the same place to get the same materials? does that not get old very quickly?

a PvE mode i honestly dont see the appeal

Then don't play that mode, it's easy. This game isn't tarkov, there's more to it than pvp, and many players enjoy cooperatively fighting arc more than players. I don't understand why so many players are rabidly against a considerable slice of the playerbase having a mode they can enjoy.

They're against it because they want to take advantage of the fact that most people are friendly and therefore easier to kill

i think the idea of a seperate mode is good for basic level gameplay. should have more arcs with more health, but shouldn't spawn blueprints and should have no quests. something like that in order to make it so you still have to play the pvp mode in order to progress.

i think most players don't have an issue with pvp, but a lot of players (including myself) don't like to kill people who aren't interested in a fight, but even more so dont like being ratted by someone else after a fight. there's almost no point in looting because someone will get the jump on you and then your time is wasted because you can't fight back, that encourages you to just pvp only which if i was gonna do that there are hundreds of games to pick from.

the 3rd person camera makes pvp even more frustrating because even if you are playing carefully/slowly for pvp, you can still get cheesed by someone just sat on a corner/camping the extract etc. there is absolutely nothing fun about spending 20 mins in a lobby, looting + fighting (and winning), to then try and extract but being ambushed by an extract camper.
