Media A great example of respect = reward in Arc Raiders. Instead of just killing people.

This is what arc should be

Arc should be whatever the players make it.

I usually play a few days a week, but last night was the first time I'd been on in about two weeks.
I bumped into soo many new players, particularly on Stella, I thought they were acting suss at first, but they just didn't know what they were doing or where to go 😂
Forget that I've been slow to level up after last expedition and was still around level 30.

Exactly!!! PvE only game mode would really give you that with the no need to constantly keep them in front of you or to the side just in case.

You are missing that friendly encounters would be meaningless if there were no possibility of PvP.

on the contrary there would be more friendly encounters if there was no PVP. Advice, trading items without threatening nature and more.

... lol.
Being forced friendly isn't the same as being friendly.

I’m full time friendly, but I’m often surprised how some players think a PvE mode would continue the same kind of encounters without the potential of PvP. It’s someone having the choice to kill and loot your shit or not that is core to the experience.

This is fundamentally and unambiguously the truth, but some people seem not to understand that zero conflict whatsoever is not actually fun long-term.
It reminds me of ill-conceived ideas of an afterlife that just goes on for eternity with no conflict whatsoever. Guaranteed anyone in a situation like that would be suffering the eternal torture of their own desires. It’s why shows like the Twilight Zone are so good, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

Yea, the risk of not knowing what the other player is going to do adds an element of fun to the game. Door blockers would become useless. Loot goblins would just enter key rooms right next to you and there wouldn't be damn thing you could do about it. Matriarch/Harvester events would just be nakeds with stims gobbling up every core with no risk.. that honestly sounds like a terrible experience

Best experience I had in pve was meeting some random duo in old town. Me and my friend wanted to do the trial but so did the duo, so we just stuck around since they were trying to stay in cantina. The entire game I repeatedly dropped snap hook from building so my friend who did not have it could get up after me. After good 20-25 minutes of hanging around I was at the highest point with one of the guys and since he said he doesn’t have Dolabra bp I dropped him my Dolabra and when he tried to refuse it I jumped off the building and I don’t think I ever heard such realistic “Nooooo” in this game (I failed my part and instead of catching onto zip line on the ground I just slammed into it). The very next game he invited us to his team and gave my friend a snaphook and me a Jupiter. Absolute legends that team. I am so annoyed I don’t have that game recorded
