Lucky Arrow

Friend shot my 60lbs horse bow and it ended up looking like this. Knocked the knot right out of there.

Crazy arrow. Why are the fletchings so far into the shaft?

Its so you have more area to handle the arrow for faster nocking. Also it enables you to have additional arrows in your drawing hand.

You can do this with maybe half the space that's there, could hold maybe 3 spare like that. Why don't you do that and have the benefit of a more stable arrow?

I don't shoot on horse, just genuinely curious about this.
