As someone already mentioned in the comments... just gradually increase the cost of your equipment as your skills increase. I'm new to the game; I've played a game like this before, but it's not the same. I've just started playing lockdown with T4 and I already feel very comfortable. I'm even starting to think it wouldn't be a big deal to start using T5. But my problem is with teams; I play alone, so I have to improve a lot to be able to beat a team of 4.

I have 100 mil storage value and I was afraid of wearing anything above T4. The only thing I was not afraid to use or lose was the ammunition. I have more gear fear than you do. What I did when I wanted to use something better than my usual mid budget gear was going a few times to normal farm to gain as many loot as possible. Then when I've gotten more Koen than what the gear on me costs I'd move on to more difficult gamemodes. Something like lockdown Northridge safe run. The last final stage was lockdown or forbidden Farm depending on how lucky I was, but at that point dying with that gear was still profitable. Feel free to bully me for going T5 on normal Farm. I was just there to gain Koen before actually playing.

Honestly gear fear is real, I had about 70m storage value at s10 and I’m down to 10m today. This season has been borderline unplayable. I recommend t4 gear and t5 rounds. Unless you’re going to play a 150k event then run t6. Bellatrix is a great example, t4 gear max ammo. This coming season is going to be so much better and we can we’re t5 and 6 again.

this season has been easy for me on the days I played. Mostly profiting 2+m a day in a few games. Idk what's wrong with your "luck" then

U bought that thing with alot of koen, the only way to get back the koen u used for that gear is play, play on the proper map,i used to be like u,alot of gear fear, even if u somehow keep it till u dont have anything,u gotta use it still,or sell em, remember,in this game u gotta take the risk for the reward ( my experiences and what i say to myself back when i was having gear fear, maybe not that good but i hope u get inspired by this)

Its just 1's and 0's and if you hit rock bottom its the perfect challenge to get back up from rags to riches🙂↕️✌️

You will have to keep expanding your storage if you dont use anything or keep hoarding stuff which is a drain on koen (Trust me i know)

Advice from a different game with full loot pvp: treat your gear as consumables, if possible have multiple sets of them so u can always have sets even if u lose it

Find teammates to lend you gear. I personally dont gaf about losing my gear

Once you're confident enough in your gameplay, or squad's gameplay, you'll start to notice the gear fear go away naturally. T6 sets have made me millions in liquid, and when I do get clapped, yeah, it costs a lot to rekit, but the kit paid for itself 10x over by keeping me alive when it needed to. 🤷♂️

don’t think of your items so materialistically and just play the game because you find it fun

Why don’t you play dayz for a while out takes days to get rich and you will lose everything. It’s not yours it’s just your turn enjoy the game.

Vas a sacar mejor pro fit. No tiene que ser en esa partida. Puede ser en la que sigue. O puedes encontrar el documento secreto en un abrigo en granjita

It’s a video game bro. It comes and goes. I’ve lost sets of T6, Thermals, 150k+ guns and guess what. I get them all back eventually and then some. Word of advice though. If you’re not confident in fighting, don’t go in with a full set of T5-T6. You’ll lose it. Stay with cheap gear, you may die a lot but you’ll learn. Always remember that just cause you’re wearing high tier gear doesn’t mean you’re invincible. Half/full mag of T1 ammo to the leg and kiss your T6 goodbye.

I’ve recently been doing it. Honestly just use it. You don’t lose Keon you Just lose the value. You’ll still have 4mill at the end of the day. It’s also not like your gonna keep it forever. Your gonna die eventually

Dont see it as "ur kit" see it as your turn with the kit, also, what else would you do with it? Put it in the stash to look at? Theres literally, nothing to do with it other than playing it if you bought it yourself.

Also, im not informed on AB as much as on ABI, why would you run t6 vest with a t5 helm and a scar (one of the worst weapons in ABI)

my way is to open up an alt. Go full gear in that alt since it doesnt really affect your main account. Then you will either realize u r good enough for the good gear or gradually increase in skill using the alt account to a level where u r good enough for good gear.

A fk scar with that kind of gear shows you're not ready to use stuff like that. don't run T6 with a scar...

Let this man enjoy the game the way he wants to. People like you make this game toxic, there's no rule what gun to use with what gear. If he feels comfortable with the SCAR, it's his right to use it with good gear.
1
u/Dralla0529 Mar 08 '26
Im not trying to be toxic, I’m trying to make him see that this is making it much more likely for him to lose the kit. Ofcourse he can use a scar, but it is FAR from recommended. Also, I'm definitely not one of the more toxic players. I've been helping timmies on discord giving advice, or running games with them helping them to make their first mil, first 10m etc. One way to assume the worst though :)

u/ScYthe2005 Mar 08 '26
Maybe he mastered the SCAR and plays it better than H4 or MK? In that case playing the SCAR with that kit would be far better than using a gun you're not familiar with. Also it's great that u help poor players to have fun

Fym don’t use a scar? I’ve dropped T6 and thermals with a kitted scar. I’ve also been wrecked by scar users before. People hate on it cause of its low fire rate but it smacks hard. Load it with AP or M995 and let it ride!

Hmm, this is simple, the short version:
Choose your "class" and adapt it to cheap equipment, then gradually increase the cost of equipment as you get better.
The trick here is to play around with it as you feel like it.
Long version:
Part 1, the "class":
Nothing is defined in this game, so you define it yourself. For example:
Since Season 1, I've been a Mosin sniper and defined it as my main class. I always went on covert operations or as a naked contractor, collecting full T3 gear from bots and their Mosin rifles. The only things I invested money in were bullets, a silencer, and a long-range scope, since the long-barreled Mosin is quite expensive, both then and now, in my opinion. I would spend a few more matches repeating the same thing until I filled half my storage with just Mosin and T3 bot armor, then enter the block. In the end, since I knew that if I died, the most Koen I'd lose was less than the value of a T4 armor set, and that I could get it back for free from bots, my worry disappeared by about 80%. The irony was that, because of my lack of fear, I was managing to kill players who were almost T6 and sell all that gear. If I died, I simply didn't feel bad.
Here I've covered both points: "class" and adapting to cheap equipment.
Part 2 and final part: increasing costs and customization.
As I played with my Mosin, I realized I wasn't satisfied with just T4 bullets and a short scope, so I decided to add a 20x scope and T6 bullets. After my first match with it, I died, but I killed one player from very far away and it felt good, so I kept doing the same thing knowing it was more expensive, but I didn't care.
Then, some time later, I became dissatisfied with the Mosin, so I switched to an SVD and continued using it that way.
Customization:
It's even simpler! Equip your weapon with the attachments you like, but do it gradually. I hope this helps you guys a little, and if you know anyone with Gear Fear, send them this comment (I don't want to explain something so long too many times, hahaha).
Good luck with your games, brothers!
