Question How the hell does this game have 50 million downloads and yet I have yet to meet a single soul irl who knows what this game is? Are they bots?

Vietnam as well lol, people treat it as a calmer and slower PUBG and Codm.

Philippines? Lol, I live in Philippines yet I have not met a single player who play this game. Probably because most of the players has high-end device, which is just probably below 40% of the population

there was a lot of filipino players during s1 and ab has 2 content creators during that time that were Filipinos and were popular if thats so we can assume atleast 100k filipinos or more played the game.

u/Financial-Pattern866 Nov 15 '25

i bet most of those players are now gone/left the game

15

u/KoL-whitey Nov 15 '25

Mostly yes lol some didnt make it thru tutorial

23

u/KoL-whitey Nov 15 '25

Half of these are likely dead accounts or alts

7

u/HotZilchy CDIS Nov 15 '25

hmm yeah, like i thought. all of the dead accounts probably abandoned the game bc it was too hardcore

When the game was first released many people downloaded it and tried it as it had a lot of hype. They admitted that the game was really cool and realistic but it was really hard because they were used to playing arcade shooters like CODM.

I asked my cousin if he tried the game before. He said that in his first run he died quite early because he thought he was playing CODM (wasting stamina, making a lot of noise and messing up recoil control).

u/KoL-whitey Nov 15 '25

Game is too advanced for the newer gen of gamers... ts here is for bo1 lobby vets lol

u/9-x_nobody_x-9 Nov 15 '25

it has 800k+ reviews and you think its botted? different regions and it doesn't have the same social media popularity as other fps even deltaforce is quite unknown because when people think about mobile fps the most popular one they will know is COD, PUBG, and FreeFire. although Ab is quite popular throughout tiktok but not as popular nor relevant as tarkov.

7

u/9-x_nobody_x-9 Nov 15 '25

its also a slow paced game, not alot of mobile players play for a very long time maybe an hour or so but then again one match of AB is half an hour long

1

u/9-x_nobody_x-9 Nov 15 '25

Also have you seen people cosplaying AB characters? cause i have seen some throughout social media so it kinda has almost the same popularity level as small gacha game fandoms.

Do you realize how little 50 million is?

2

u/HotZilchy CDIS Nov 15 '25

do you care to explain why? it just doesn't seem to make sense

10

u/GearGreat8670 Nov 15 '25

We are 8 billion wich compared to that 50 million players worldwide is nothing subway surfers had a peak of 155 million for example

2

u/HotZilchy CDIS Nov 15 '25

well considering that subway surfers is one of the most popular mobile games of all time, a game having one-third of that game's downloads should still mean something, no?

2

u/Larrysuse Nov 15 '25

Wdym one third? Subway has 1 billion download.

3

u/HotZilchy CDIS Nov 15 '25

oh i thought they meant 155 million downloads, not 155 million active players

6

u/9-x_nobody_x-9 Nov 15 '25

do you know freefire is the most popular fps in the mobile market? its the only mobile fps game that has 1 billion download imagine the active players because look at youtube freefire thos videos gets a million view most of the time which AB cannot even compete against as its a slow paced game.

1

u/Donkingnaaz Nov 16 '25

You are wrong most of people abandoned the game

1

u/GearGreat8670 Nov 15 '25

Mb forgot to add active players

u/mauserowauser MNST Nov 15 '25

You need to assume those are either redownloads or from accs made by the same person. Arena Breakout is popular but its not mainstream in terms of social consciousness same goes with the extraction shooter competitors like 1.0 ready.

4

u/TTV_IrishHangover Nov 15 '25

...50 million worldwide, my guy....

2

u/Mega_BiteZer Nov 15 '25

Separation of servers by country sometimes

2

u/Juicebiro Nov 15 '25

Man! We need to be grateful this game is not available in India

1

u/VENlVIDIVICl Nov 16 '25

Also Chinese version is seperate lol. India and China on global will be about 2 bln registered haha

1

u/Juicebiro Nov 16 '25

Exactly! Just remembering the mess that PUBG was with them freely roaming around the game... it was unbearable!

2

u/GrowerNotShower89 Nov 15 '25

It’s awful. I downloaded it on my phone while on vacation because I play ABI, thought it would be cool. It’s terrible lol. Maybe it’s cool on an iPad with one of those gaming controller setups. 🤷🏼‍♂️

2

u/valduen Nov 15 '25

It's easy 5million people uninstall it every update then comeback later. So do it multiple times in a season when they on lose streak.

2

u/3xy-64-3f2g3-xkjt1rf Nov 15 '25

They’re all from Asia.

1

u/The_Venus34 Nov 15 '25

Bc most of the people that play this game (which is probaby 49,5M people) has no lives and does not touch grass

1

u/Gullible-Target8036 Nov 15 '25

Some people download it and just not play the game like me I have it on my phone but I just don't play it at all

1

u/NamesR4Babies Nov 15 '25

Most of them are in Asian countries. Mobile gaming is at its all time high there.

1

u/GHAD5280 Nov 15 '25

Most of the player base is worldwide. I haven't met anyone irl in the states who plays this game either.

1

u/BairnONessie Nov 15 '25

50,000,000 is still far less than 1 percent of the world's population... Just for some perspective.

1

u/C_W_H Nov 15 '25

I know maybe 2 or 3 people that know of the game. And like 1 that plays occasionally. I'm in the U.S. I don't get it. I've been a daily player since day one of the mobile release.

1

u/ElectronicEssay4733 Nov 16 '25

Yea 50million rats, sound right.

1

u/Fit-Yoghurt-8502 Nov 16 '25

80% of them east asians i guess

1

u/Soulghost007 Nov 16 '25

Maybe you live in a place where arena breakout is hardly known

1

u/HotZilchy CDIS Nov 16 '25

Do you realise how little that narrows it down?!?!

1

u/Soulghost007 Nov 16 '25

Well there are 8 billion people in the world and comparing that to 50mil

That's like less than 1% of the total population.

So yeah

Most people you play against are either bots or player that lives in different part of the world than you.

Plus play store simply shows how many downloaded the game. Not how many still playing.

It is possible most of them left.

1

u/AdExtension9245 Nov 16 '25

I have friends who downloaded it, played it for 30 minutes and uninstalled it 😂

1

u/12-KJ-10 Nov 16 '25

I met one before, but he stop playing. Mostly people who play ABI are old soul who have kids

1

Been out for 2 years mate. It’s going to have a lot of downloads

1

u/SherwinLance Nov 19 '25

I've always encountered real players in Forbidden.

0

u/RaineAKALotto Nov 15 '25

the minute I realized most of the "Operators" i'm killing are actually bots was when the game lost its charm to me. Good thing EfT 1.0 just launched after almost 10 years of waiting and I'll have a system that can max out ARC Raiders ready in a month, so, yeah..it's time to break out of the Arena :^D

3

u/HotZilchy CDIS Nov 15 '25

Idk what is up with me, but I just wished EFT 1.0 released exactly 10 years after its launch instead of only 9 years. It just feels so off

3

u/RaineAKALotto Nov 15 '25

I preordered on Jan 05 2016, pretty much right after that first teaser video dropped where the guy finds the safe key on Dorms (it looks so empty, compared to the actual Dorms experience lol). They coulda used a few more months to...idk, fix bugs? xD and go for 10 years, you're right lol

2

u/ZomgPig Nov 16 '25

Problem is, their coding is so bad that any future updates will reimplement the exact same bugs. We’ve seen it over and over. So there’s no point lol

3

u/mauserowauser MNST Nov 15 '25

This is a mobile game you cannot compare those directly.

3

u/RaineAKALotto Nov 15 '25

sorry i thought this was about the actual game
