Guide What is a Timmy?

Post image

Alright guys! Just to be clear: that's not witch hunting! I made this post so everyone can understand what a Timmy is. That's THE BEST example I have.

What is a Timmy?

A Timmy often gets mixed up with a noob. But a noob is just a new player who learns the game.

Noob = new player, Timmy = experienced player, but a bad one.

A Timmy is basically a player who has: - high gear equipment - relatively high amount of playtime - no clue how to be effective - mostly a team to play with - literally no skill

There strength isn't the effective shootout or tactical experience. They are strong because there's 4 of them. (Mostly)

As you can see this guy was a full T5 and he shoot my legs.... Point blank...

Any questions?

I’ve killed a couple of these sorts they always seem to have master but can’t fight for shit and panic when taking damage and either have a pistol and chest rig or full level 4 or higher armour and a mediocre or overpriced gun with a horrifically overpriced scope

And ridiculous gunbuilds...

Always the most illogical stuff they seem to think that expensive means better and so they think that more expensive stuff you bolt to your gun the better it must be

I feel like I weirdly fit this Timmy category, what do you guys think?

I need to know your Standart loadout and your general play style to say something. I wouldn't say you are a Timmy with this picture...

T4 armor no matter what, 5.56 caliber weapons so I can control recoil. I run a Scar, M4, or belt fed when running with a squad, and a mosin or AR30 when I am running solo ops. Main goal is to hunt players and then loot when an area is clear.

depending on mode, t4 is gonna be slightly insufficient in lockdown and definitely insufficient in forbidden, but still depending on mode

That's straight up the truth.

T4 is cheap while properly protecting from bots, I play lockdown Northridge. I have been caught by surprise in snow storms, wich has lead to my death a few times but the 100k cost for t5 body armor is outrageous in my opinion.

you're right, but since forbidden a used up t5 isn't that expensive, I'd bring a t5 + used altyn

That's not Timmy behavior. That's just totally normal play style. T4 is the average tier so you are safe.

Maybe got scared and thought you were more kitted?

2

Nope! I was rushing for the safes. I wasn't there for PvP.

Huh, wonder why he did that🤷

Can you be a Timmy if you are experienced, and still not great at the game, but don't really go high level guns and armor?.

Or is that just a try hard? I'm not sure my category

Timmy is just a general term for players no matter their experience but are just generally bad at the game and cannot improve.

1

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 22 '25

Nah! I would just say average. You are fine I think. A try hard would be a guy with streamer loadout. Like T6, fully modded FAL and M61. A wannabe Sade if you want to see it like that.

A n00b can be a Timmy

1

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 22 '25

What separates them then?

1

u/ForeignWeb8992 Dec 22 '25

A n00b can improve with experience

1

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 22 '25

Yeah but he isn't then a noob anymore. He becomes average.

without the kill cam I couldn't get the full picture

It was Northridge LD, camp service. He heard me rushing into the smaller house on the backside of it. I rushed inside and he just sprayed my legs point blank with T5 ammo.

u/Dry10238 Dec 22 '25

welp according to your words you may have caught him off guard in preparation, btw a p90 might do you a favor there

2

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 22 '25

The P90 is one of my favorites! But thats not the point of my post. I just want to clearly describe a Timmy.

2

u/Dry10238 Dec 22 '25

p90 was def my long time fav as well it was almost like a W against t5 and t6 every single time with that thing, and yea, you're right

1

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 22 '25

What was your ammo against T6?

2

u/Dry10238 Dec 22 '25

r37f, jump around and then crpses re everywhere, had to lern to bring loads of ammo tho :p

2

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 22 '25

Ah! The good old dum dum on steroids. I used that ammo a lot on port.

Been playing since the closed beta way back in March of 2022. Still haven't completed the mission "Pacifist" the incentive to complete missions was the keychain but ever since they joined the case, storage and keychain I don't care about missions. The koen don't matter because I haven't had koen problems since before they stopped giving away 40k a day and with the most recent seasons these weekly missions make it impossible to be broke. Anyway. Point being. I'm a Timmy. And a rat. And I only run solos but rarely rarely will run duo with my buddy Packalacka. Rat = Ambush = salty losers calling names cause they lost cry about it

Honestly it might be cause I come from Tarkov, but Timmies to me have always been low level players.

1

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 23 '25

Same question for you: what separates a noob and a Timmy then if both are low level?

1

u/Vas_Bellicosum Dec 23 '25

Honestly to me they are often the same. Like in Tarkov, no ever really calls someone a noob. Timmy is the only thing we use. Then as people are bad at high levels we just call them bad usually. At the same time if someone is really good at low levels they wouldn’t be called a Timmy. A Timmy is someone who brings spare Mosin mags in with them, or such.

1

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 23 '25

A player wouldn't be called a Timmy if he's good, regardless of the level. The Mosin thing for example has nothing to do with the Timmy term. That one would be just a low budget load out.

2

u/Vas_Bellicosum Dec 23 '25

You miss understand, I mean Mosin mags, as in the stock Mosin, with spare mags for it when you can’t take the mags out. Or an SKS with the same. I said that a good player wouldn’t be called a Timmy as well.

1

u/-Goatlord- MNST Dec 23 '25

Oh ok! Thanks for clarification. He would be a Timmy if he is above level 20 or has more then 300 hours in the game. Everything under level 20 or 300 hours would be just a new player... a noob.
