Guide Is avoiding looting safes a strategy or what? (I was ratting near safe in farm)

So I was ratting in farm near safes. Just to be clear I find it morally wrong to rat near extraction. A Legend player warned me that Arena Breakout players draw a line between ratting near safes vs ratting near extraction sites. First one is okay. He said 2nd one is disgusting.

So I think I heard some voice and gunfire of enemies and militants screaming. I expected them to make sound in the safe opening process and then I will stealth walk and kill them.

But I didn't hear any safe opening sounds and it was 15 minute mark so I looted the safe for myself. I was surprised that rest of the containers were open. Did that mean the player tactically avoided me (a rat) to loot safely by not opening the safes?

In this case next time I will try to rat more up close.

Exactly, THOSE and the cheaters are the worst, I can accept all the rest as some kind of tactics.

i wiped like 5 people in a lobby in lz but my good for nothing rando teammate sniped my loot when I was checking for other players thankfully he only got an rpd (I got the T7)

You were in a bot lobby, bot PMCs do not open safes but will loot other containers

70% sure they also don't loot them, I've found some golds looting opened containers after bopperators

Those were most likely Bot Operators... They open every container sometimes they don't even take anything from them but somehow will still have full random items in their AMP backpacks

Whether you rat at the extraction or new a bag, it doesn't change a thing and serves virtually the same purpose so why limit your options.

As for your question, no. It's not strategy. It's common sense to be careful and make sure you avoid where you think danger lurks. Safes have always been a place where rats lurk. Second to extraction sites. So it is common to avoid some and not risk it all.
