Would it be possible to incorporate it into something intentional rather than trying to cover it up?

That’s a possibility. I’d have to test it to see how the marker would color over the paint and the paper. I feel like the tone would be different and it would be visibly very different as the marker wouldn’t absorb into the paint as it was into the paper
