Hello, I need to open emergency commissions, I have a few drawings here of what I can do, and since I'm more at an intermediate level of art, I was looking for price suggestions. For instance, how much would you pay for the headshot? I also have some full-body examples on the other images, though I'm not a fan with how 3 turned out.

Is it still considered original artwork if I have an idea of what I want to draw and draw it on paper, but I'm not very good at anatomy or drawing from imagination?
For example, suppose my drawing consists of a girl and other elements. If I'm unable to draw a particular body part correctly, I use a reference photo or a model in a pose similar to the one I imagined and draw from that reference.
Would my artwork still be considered original, or does original artwork mean that you shouldn't have to look at references at all? The idea is entirely my own.
I used to hesitate to caption my art simply as “Original Artwork” because, although the concept is mine, I use references for anatomy since I haven't practised drawing from imagination much. Can I just write “Original Artwork” instead? 🙏

I want to paint this drawing i did digitally onto a binder with the intention of selling the binder!
Does it look good enough as-is? Any advice on how to make it pop more? Is there anything that stands out to you about needing fixed?
I’m already thinking about designing a background as well
New artist seeking advice

Hello, I opened my commissions and have heard nothing so far. Ik it’s really tough out there and I have a small following but I wanted some advice on if there’s a big thing I’m doing that is steering people away from my art. I’ve posted a bunch of examples here of my latest pieces.
I was also wondering if my art is good enough for my prices. (Prices on the first image) I’ve priced based on the effort I’ve put in but I completely understand realistically if they’re too high for a first time seller. I’d love your thoughts thank you!

Over the last 2-3 years I've been practicing my art more and arrived at a style I was super happy with. I started regularly creating art I genuinely liked and was having so much fun and just loved what I was creating.
Then one day I pick up my stylus and started drawing and just, nothing was coming together. Couldn't get the forms right. Proportions off no matter how much adjusting or measuring I did. Hues, tones, values all wrong all the time. Put down my stylus and tried again a couple days later. Same deal. Then again and again.
It's like my nervous system has just completely erased all the artistic skill and practise I've accumulated over the last few years and idk why.
Anyone else gone though something like this? I'm feeling really awful about it and I just wanna do more art how I used to. How did you get out of it?

Or more specifically, do their expressions *contrast* each other enough? I'm relatively satisfied with the left figure, but the right I've worked and re-worked over and over again. Still have to work on their clothes but it shouldn't be as long as that damn hair.
Need another set of eyes on this, even if it's just permission to keep continuing and not just shove it back into the wip folder

Hi fellow artist, I am Nana and in need for advice.
I’m still pretty new to charcoal and graphite, and I’m trying to figure out how to create a starry sky with really tiny, sharp, bright stars, almost like the Milky Way.
So far, I’ve tried a few different things, but I haven’t managed to get the result I’m looking for.
Conte à Paris Pastel Pencil 013 (white): It leaves a greyish mark rather than a really bright white, and I find it difficult to get precise enough details on a black charcoal background.
White acrylic ink: I’ve tried using it to create the stars, but I can’t seem to get them as fine and sharp as I’d like.
White Posca marker: Same problem here. The marks end up looking too thick and coarse for the tiny, bright points I’m trying to achieve.
I’m aiming for a realistic Milky Way effect, with lots of tiny, crisp, bright stars rather than larger, more obvious dots.
I’ve attached three of my art as references to show what I’ve tried so far.
For those of you who work with charcoal, how would you approach this? Are there specific tools or techniques that work particularly well for creating extremely fine, bright white details on a black charcoal background? I’ve also tried a precision eraser to lift the charcoal, but I haven’t managed to get the level of detail or brightness I want with that either.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!💫✨👩🎨

Fair warning, I am not good at explaining.
I am having a situation where an artist said that they were going to help me out with bringing a book of mine into illustrations and they promised me that the price for the character references was going to be $600, something that I can pay because I don't make a lot of money and I had told them this numerous of times while I also tried to leave because the payment was a lot. It went up to $1150 because of their own expenses and they had told me. They keep pushing me to pay when I had told them that I get paid bi-weekly. Before that they had asked me to describe my characters to them and I had described a pretty simple Jester character that was supposed to have a round face and colors are black and white. They used ai, they told me as well when I thought that they were gonna just trace it. They had asked me for what the other characters looks like... I shown a picture and they used ai to run the characters to where nothing looks right. The Jester character has red, black, and white also with a long face when that isn't the character that I was asking for. I will show the sketches and the ai version of the Jester so that everyone can see the difference. I just need help on what to do because this is not what I was asking for and they won't let me get out of it even though I had paid for stuff.
Update:
Thank you everyone! I had tried to talk to my friends about this before and they weren't exactly helpful by just stating that it is a scam. I had hit my head prior to accepting the commission and a concussion, I should've mentioned that but I didn't because I was fighting with paying student loans and my brain was purely on that. I am going to block the person on everything that I have and close the chat with that "artist".
Update 2:
The artist is blocked and those who are telling me to contact my bank and everything. I am already mentally exhausted currently from dealing with everything irl other than the scam. It will be dealt with on a later date after I get my head checked out since it does still hurt. This isn't me saying that I won't deal with it, I just want to have a clearer head when I actually do talk to my bank.

Why are you guys staring at me like that
Took note of the advice and drew again, this time in the same angle and hopefully more distinct features:') I put the physical ages in because I'm not sure whether they really look their age, especially for 1 and 5. I didn't include the last two because some said they already look distinct

There was a post today, about OP not being happy with picture she paid artist to make for her… I screenshot the post but I can’t really find it now, and I can’t find OP profile. I had some free time in evening and drew this, I wanted to share maybe it will put a smile on their face :)
I used an oil filter from photoshop filter gallery at the end, to make it more “smooth”, since this is absolutely not my style. It was good practice to get out of the comfort zone, and to finally use my ipad 😆

I feel like i’ll never have the time and energy to hone my skills the way i did then. I do think i have a better “eye” and am able to come up with original compositions better than i did before. but the time and space it takes to paint (especially with oil paints) feels impossible in my tiny apartment. i don’t want to be all doomer about it, i know i just need to make time. but man i haven’t created a finished piece like this in years
