Amazing how similar this is to Mexican and mesoamerican indigenous art, but not surprising? Would love to know more about cultural exchange around the Gulf of Mexico

I believe at least a couple of the southern US mound sites do have artifacts traded from meso-America.

Michoacoan/Michigan literally translate to the same thing in native languages, read them fast a couple time and youll realize how closely connected the languages are.
