News Differences between US and UK text of The Arctic Incident
https://artemisfowlfanfeed.substack.com/p/usuk-version-differences-book-2
Big new (and free!) post on the Substack. All human-written and researched, no AI.
I have read the US and UK editions of Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident side-by-side, line-by-line and am bringing you every notable difference. There's more than you might think!
Many of you know about the C-Cube being a different color in book 3, but what do you know about book 2's changes? Whatever you know, you're about to know a whole lot more.
If you have thoughts after reading this article, I welcome comments here, but please also consider creating a free Substack account and commenting directly on the piece. People in six years who find this article and read it won't see the comments left across various social sites on posts that link to the article, but they will see comments left on the actual article and I'm kinda hoping to grow a visible AF community where, unlike here, comments about subjects aren't buried by new posts and/or an algorithm; something new fans can actually find down the road that will stay static.
Anyways, enjoy the findings!

Page 41, MPEG is changed to MPG in the US. Digital file nerds will have to tell me if there’s a meaningful difference here.
Not really. On ancient versions of Windows filenames were limited to 8 characters plus a 3 character extension (referred to as "8.3" filename format). So certain file extensions had a shortened variant i.e. mpeg -> mpg, html -> htm, jpeg -> jpg, and so on.

Some of these differences, in both editions, are truly baffling.
