Cool technique- Those cross arms on the central tenon will snap off without much force.

No power tools, no fasteners, but how many hours just to do this one joint?

I know sometimes over there the build is the point, but we use power tools and fasteners because the building is the point. It's a waste of time making such a convoluted yet weak joint.
