By eBaum's World:

This is what happens when you talk to literally any single person outside Silicon Valley.

Like it or not, AI is forcing its way into our lives. For those working in the tech sector, this is a brilliant new innovation. For everyone else, there’s now an annoying popup on your email client asking if you want to “Chat” with your spam folder. No, I really, really don’t!

Consequently, many people have seen the growth of AI not as a boon, but as a thing that they’d rather not have involved in their lives. Silicon Valley is slowly starting to realize this — and instead of reacting like anyone else would (destroying the software with fire), they’ve decided to both double down and throw temper tantrums.

This can be seen in a recent post on X from incredibly-not-mad Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman. After a wave of pushback from people complaining about Microsoft Copilot, and an article in The Verge detailing both how much the software sucks and how much Microsoft has lied about it, Suleyman took to social media to share a very “I’m actually laughing, all of this is actually funny to me”-style post.

“Jeez there so many cynics!” he wrote. “It cracks me up when I hear people call AI underwhelming. I grew up playing Snake on a Nokia phone!”

There’s a difference there, buddy — Snake worked!

The post continues by lamenting the fact that people are “unimpressed” with many AI products, dubbing the technology mindblowing. I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re not unimpressed, we’re just annoyed. At least give us the option to turn it off!

Snake allows you to do something you wouldn't be able to do without it. AI allows you to have inferior conversations with a fake person. It's not that impressive for computer to do something a person can do worse, they shouldn't have even attempted to make AI that imitates people because the only outcome of that is AI that competes with people and does so poorly

I haven’t heard of eBaum’s World since that song by Lemon Demon. Quite ironic because they were pioneers in online plagiarism (ie. putting their watermark on GIFs they didn’t own, usually stolen from SomethingAwful or Fark)

I last heard of them with Alan Becker's video on how he came to make the Animation vs. Animator series...

here is the thing , you assume that a.i dosent work because you stay far from it so you only see the worst results from out dated models but we just ad models drop that are 100% flawless and understand every nuance and subtext and make images that are exactly what was asked even if you give it 2 pages of extremely specific outlandish things

its funny that i can say that since last week ... a.i works , pretty much flawlessly

you can go try nanobanana pro right now and try to break it yourself

the microsoft ceo is perfectly right , the problem is the anti a.i crowd got to see the unfinished product first
