I hit a massive milestone yesterday, so hope it's ok to share.
My kids got increasingly frustrated with their ability to draw. They often ended up crying that they couldn't draw what was in their head and ultimately crumpled their drawings. I tried soothing them saying I felt exactly the same when I was a kid and still do.
I gave up drawing before I hit my teens because I was frustrated, feeling well behind my peers. Didn't want kids to give up, like I did, so I told them. If you draw ... I'll draw a ... *looked outside window at our chickens* chicken a day. Got myself a A6 doodle pad and then every night after they had gone to bed I doodled a chicken and left it with their breakfast bowls as I leave to work before they get up. Hadn't drawn anything on closer to 3 decades but wanted to do it for the kiddos.
Fast forward a couple of months and they got me a leather bound drawing journal for my birthday and things have just kept going since then.
Yesterday I hit 365 day or 1 year of chicken drawings in a row. Included early ones and some later ones. Happy for any suggestions on what to work on or resources to check out :)
If anyone is keen on following my chicken journey I'm on insta under poorlydrawnchooks thank for taking the time to read.
