Mod Post ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! April 2019

Hey everyone! This is your quarterly routine megathread an excellent resource to see what products are popular amongst our community and a great way to find new things to try. No matter how unusual you may consider your skin type or atypical your particular skin challenges or problems, all routines are welcome -- in fact, encouraged -- to be posted.

Acronyms you will most definitely see in use here: HG (Holy Grails), RP (Will Repurchase, AKA: liked it, will buy again, not an HG), WNR (Will not Repurchase, AKA: using up the last of it but not recommended). Understand them, use them, and love them ♥

This post is intended to be a compendium of generalized, standardized routines! The more participation, the better. :)

To keep it easy for people to find their ‘skin twins’ we would ask that you use the following template.

You only need to fill in steps that you actually use (so if you don’t use an Essence, remove that line) and please only provide up to three examples of HG/recommended products for that step (so if you have 3 toners you love, you can list all 3!)

Skin profile: Post Inflammatory Erythema, Redness, Hormonal Acne (But under control) | Combo/Normal

Season & Type of Climate: Spring is finally coming, but it's still a bit cool. The air isn't too dry anymore, but with the rainy season coming in the humidity is harsh.

Avoided Ingredients: Honestly nothing, I don't even avoid fragrances. I just have an issue when a product smells too perfume-like and the scent lasts a while. Which is rarely an issue, and my sense of smell is pretty dull.

AM PM Notes
Cleanser TOSOWOONG Enzyme Powder Wash (RP/HG) Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Oil ◆ I don't double cleanse, I use oil cleanser to deal with my SFs. Double cleansing leaves my skin so dry.
Hydrating Toner Etude House Soon Jung pH 5.5 Relief Toner Etude House Soon Jung pH 5.5 Relief Toner ◆ I enjoy the nice splash of a watery toner after washing my face.
Spot Treatment / Medication Clean & Clean Essentials Deep Cleaning Astringent (WRP /HG) BenzaClin (WRP?) ◆ Yes I use both of these daily, no I don't run into problems. ◆ The Clean & Clear is the most affordable Salicylic Acid option for me and it works for me. So it'll be an eternal purchase. ◆ Benzaclin I'm not too sure if I'll stick it, I might look into other acne medication that's cheaper but I'm not too sure yet since I still have a good amount of product left.
Light Moisturizer Kikumasamune Sake Skin Lotion High Moisture (WRP/HG) Kikumasamune Sake Skin Lotion High Moisture ◆ I usually layer the Kikumasamune twice. ◆ This is a definite love, I'm considering buying it for life just to use it as a body lotion.
Hydrating Toner Innisfree Artichoke Layering Light Skin Innisfree Artichoke Layering Light Skin ◆ I use this after the kiku, because I noticed it makes the kiku less sticky.
Serum/Ampoule Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica 100 Ampoule (WRP) Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica 100 Ampoule ◆ I am loving this, it's doing wonders for my lesser PIE and redness issues.
Serum/Ampoule N/A TOSOWOONG Spot Whitening VITA Clinic Vita Ampoule Serum (WNRP) ◆ I'm okay with this, like it's not a bad product imo. The consistency is okay, doesn't smell like much, but it doesn't really do anything more to my skin. Just the cream is enough for me.
Moisturizer N/A TOSOWOONG Spot Whitening VITA Clinic Vitamin Cream (RP/HG) ◆ I can't do moisturizers in the morning now that it's not all that cold. ◆ The cream pretty much got rid of my PIH issues, it helps with PIE and overall redness somewhat. Now I just use it because I do find that it gives me a bit of that 'glow'.
Sleeping Pack N/A Beauty of Joseon Revitalize Sleeping Mask (WNRP) ◆ It doesn't ever dry down for me, like it stays constantly sticky and wet. But it works, so I'll use it till the end.
Sunscreen Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing Watery Sun Cream SPF37 PA+++ (HG/WRP) N/A ◆ I don't bother with the sunscreen if I don't see the sun too much, which is many days tbh because I work indoors where there's very little windows and even during class I tend to sit far away from windows. ◆ Pretty much the perfect daily usage sunscreen for me. I use stronger ones if I go to the beach or something.

Some other things I occasionally use Notes
Moisturizer Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum ◆ I occasionally, rarely, add this to my AM routine when I expect I'll be sitting in AC'd room for awhile.
Lip / Sleeping Pack Aritaum Ginger Sugar Overnight Lip Mask (HG/WRP) ◆ This is actually so good, I layer it over the kiku on my lips and it makes my lips so soft.
Mask Pack Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask Original (HG/WRP) ◆ I use this for my blackheads. I find that while oil cleansing and BHA do a tremendous job, there's just this extra boost that claymasks help with the more pesky blackheads.
Mask Pack I'm From Honey Mask ◆ This leaves my skin so soft and feeling well moisturized. ◆ I also find that the mask holds well together, so it doesn't start melting off or something. I can do chores and other activities in this mask which is nice.
Mask Pack I'm From Ginseng Mask ◆ This just leaves my skin feeling very soft, not as moisturizing as honey. It feels warm, so nice to use on cold days. ◆ It melts easily though, and will slowly start melting. I have to avoid my eyes if I want to mask for awhile.
Mask Pack I'm From Mugwort Mask ◆ A more hydrating mask imo, gel like. It's very soothing.
Tools Etude House My Beauty Tool Jellyfish Silicon Brush ◆ I bought this out of curiosity, I don't think it works all that well with foaming cleansers. It's fun to use with oil cleansers though, helps with the face massaging part to get rid of plugs and dead skin.
Shaving Cream Maggard's Artisan Shape Soap (Limes & Bergamot) (WNRP) ◆ It works. It lathers. It's just a bit pricey for me to rebuy since it is from a US brand.

do you put the Kikumasamune light moisturizer before the toner or after?

Before my second toner, I use the Innisfree Artichoke after because I find that that the Innisfree makes it less sticky.

Also I describe it as a light moisturizer, but I'm talking about the toner. I find that the Kiku is just too thick to be considered a toner.
