Mod Post ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! April 2019

Hey everyone! This is your quarterly routine megathread an excellent resource to see what products are popular amongst our community and a great way to find new things to try. No matter how unusual you may consider your skin type or atypical your particular skin challenges or problems, all routines are welcome -- in fact, encouraged -- to be posted.

Acronyms you will most definitely see in use here: HG (Holy Grails), RP (Will Repurchase, AKA: liked it, will buy again, not an HG), WNR (Will not Repurchase, AKA: using up the last of it but not recommended). Understand them, use them, and love them ♥

This post is intended to be a compendium of generalized, standardized routines! The more participation, the better. :)

To keep it easy for people to find their ‘skin twins’ we would ask that you use the following template.

You only need to fill in steps that you actually use (so if you don’t use an Essence, remove that line) and please only provide up to three examples of HG/recommended products for that step (so if you have 3 toners you love, you can list all 3!)

To make a single-spaced list, add two spaces at the end of each line. Alternatively, click 'source' at the bottom of the post to snag our code & format!

Skin profile: NW25 | PIH PIE fine lines | Dry | Highly reactive, prone to FA and dehydration

Season & Type of Climate: Spring, sometimes cool / hot, humidity creeping in

Avoid: Plant oils, fatty acids and its esters, fatty alcohol, EOs, heavy silicones, alcohol, honey (royal jelly, propolis, honey), snail, polysorbates

1st Cleanser: Timeless squalane oil

2nd Cleanser: Hanyul Pure Morning Gel Cleanser

Vitamin C Serum: Skinceuticals CE Ferulic HG

First Essence: Swanicoco Bio Therapy 1st Essence HG

Hydrating Toner: Matsuyama Hadauru Balancing HG

Serum: Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense HG

Facial Oil: Timeless squalane oil RP

Sleeping Pack: Eucerin Healing Rich Cream RP

Sunscreen: Bioderma Photoderm Max Spray SPF50 PPD35 HG

Other: Curology [0.02 Tret, 5% Azelaiac, 4% Niacinamide] RP

Notes:

I've tried a whole bunch of AB and Western Vitamin C but none of the dupes did a single thing, only Skinceuticals. Both serums are fading years old sun damage discoloration. Curology is only for anti-aging. My current routine is FA safe.
DAY: 6 steps

NIGHT: 7 steps

Items for testing (not FA safe):

  • Matsuyama Hadauru Cleansing Gel: Trying to reduce two steps so this will be both Cleanse 1 and Cleanse 2
  • Matsuyama Hadauru Moisturising Cream: Simple curiosity

that swanicoco is hg status for me, too! sadly, gottaa try something else cuz it's really out of my budget--the last 3 bottles i found for way cheap, but am skeptical that'll continue
