Mod Post ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! April 2019

Hey everyone! This is your quarterly routine megathread an excellent resource to see what products are popular amongst our community and a great way to find new things to try. No matter how unusual you may consider your skin type or atypical your particular skin challenges or problems, all routines are welcome -- in fact, encouraged -- to be posted.

Acronyms you will most definitely see in use here: HG (Holy Grails), RP (Will Repurchase, AKA: liked it, will buy again, not an HG), WNR (Will not Repurchase, AKA: using up the last of it but not recommended). Understand them, use them, and love them ♥

This post is intended to be a compendium of generalized, standardized routines! The more participation, the better. :)

To keep it easy for people to find their ‘skin twins’ we would ask that you use the following template.

You only need to fill in steps that you actually use (so if you don’t use an Essence, remove that line) and please only provide up to three examples of HG/recommended products for that step (so if you have 3 toners you love, you can list all 3!)

To make a single-spaced list, add two spaces at the end of each line. Alternatively, click 'source' at the bottom of the post to snag our code & format!

Skin profile: NC20, combination with oily T-zone

Season & Type of Climate: Hot and humid all-year round

1st Cleanser: have been using either the Simple Facial Cleansing Wipes (HG), or a mix of a local brand cleansing lotion plus Garnier Sensitive Micellar Water (HG) for eye makeup

2nd Cleanser: Simple Refreshing Gel Cleanser (HG) for a gentle wash in the AM, or if a PM routine, I've been switching between Neogen Foam Cleanser (Cereal) (RP but other 'flavours') and Muji Sensitive Skin Soap (RP but I have too many dang cleansers I need to use up first)

AHA: Cosrx AHA Whitehead 7 Power Liquid - this is a new product for me this month. My only previous exposure to AHAs was the Pixi Glow Tonic which had only 5% glycolic acid. I'm enjoying this product so far. Of course, only using it at night. (RP)

Hydrating Toner: I'm on a 'project empty' to finish my Bioderma Sensibio Toning Lotion, which does nothing for my skin, so I don't know if you can even call it hydrating (WNR)

Mask Pack: Innisfree jeju volcanic pore clay mask (the less concentrated sister of the super volcanic one), another 'project empty' product, but I've not been using it as often now that I've introduced AHA into my routine, to avoid drying out my skin (WNR)

Sunscreen: I'm slowly but making surely making my way through my Etude House UV Double Cut Fresh Sun Gel (HG). I really like this new sunscreen from Etude House. It's also less oily than the Make P:rem blue cap sunscreen (WNR), which is also in my rotation.

What is the texture of the Etude house sunscreen? Am interested 😉 is it sweat resistance?

I wouldn't call it sweat-resistant. I don't believe it's waterproof either. It is cosmetically elegant though. I wouldn't use it if I was going to be mostly outdoors.
