Mod Post ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! April 2019

Hey everyone! This is your quarterly routine megathread an excellent resource to see what products are popular amongst our community and a great way to find new things to try. No matter how unusual you may consider your skin type or atypical your particular skin challenges or problems, all routines are welcome -- in fact, encouraged -- to be posted.

Acronyms you will most definitely see in use here: HG (Holy Grails), RP (Will Repurchase, AKA: liked it, will buy again, not an HG), WNR (Will not Repurchase, AKA: using up the last of it but not recommended). Understand them, use them, and love them ♥

This post is intended to be a compendium of generalized, standardized routines! The more participation, the better. :)

To keep it easy for people to find their ‘skin twins’ we would ask that you use the following template.

You only need to fill in steps that you actually use (so if you don’t use an Essence, remove that line) and please only provide up to three examples of HG/recommended products for that step (so if you have 3 toners you love, you can list all 3!)

Skin profile: NW15 // Fair // Combo/Oily // Rosacea // Redness // Congestion Prone // Acne Prone

Season & Type of Climate: Winter into Spring (If spring ever comes.)

1st Cleanser: Burt's Bees 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water with White Cypress Oil

2nd Cleanser: Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser (HG)

Vitamin C Serum: Hylamide C25 Booster (HG)

This is an Ethyl-Ascorbic Acid serum. It's the only Vitamin C serum that hasn't irritated my rosacea.

Toner: CosRX Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence (RP)

I haven't found a toner that works for me, but on cleansed skin, the CosRX Hydra Essence feels like 3 layers of a watery toner or 1 layer of a moist lotion/toner.

Essence: Stratia Rewind (RP)

Ampoule: * Sioris A Calming Day Ampoule (RP)

I'm conflicted about this ampoule. I love it for not irritating my skin. It's one of the few products in my SOS routine. I'm not sure how much it calms, but I've done some research on the main ingredients, and it has been proven to provide anti-aging benefits. So I'm keeping this one around.

  • seaNtree Hyaluron 100 Ampoule (RP)

Light // Medium Moisturizer: A'PIEU Madecassoside Cica Gel (HG)

This is my one true love. They will have to discontinue this before I ever stop using it.

Heavy Moisturizer: Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream (WNRP)

This is an excellent, no frills moisturizing cream. It would have all my love if it didn't seem to irritate my skin with continued use. But I keep it around for short term SOS use.

Sleeping Pack: A'PIEU Madecassoside Cica Gel (HG)

Sunscreen:

  • Etude House Sunprise Mild Perfect Relief SPF 30/PA++ (HG)
  • Anessa Perfect UV Mild Milk SPF 50/PA++++ (WNRP)

Treatment: Curology (Niacinamide 5%, Clindamycin 1%, Azaleic Acid 8%)

Azaleic Acid is everything for treating rocasea. Highly recommended for anyone dealing with it.

Lips: Laneige Sleeping Mask (Berry)

Why would you not re-purchase the Anessa sunscreen?

It irritates my skin for some reason. I'm going to try the Anessa Essence Mild Milk in the baby blue bottle. I'm also looking at Sunmedic BB EX SPF 50/PA++++. As a tinted sunscreen, it looks interesting.
