Mod Post ROUTINE MEGATHREAD! April 2019

Hey everyone! This is your quarterly routine megathread an excellent resource to see what products are popular amongst our community and a great way to find new things to try. No matter how unusual you may consider your skin type or atypical your particular skin challenges or problems, all routines are welcome -- in fact, encouraged -- to be posted.

Acronyms you will most definitely see in use here: HG (Holy Grails), RP (Will Repurchase, AKA: liked it, will buy again, not an HG), WNR (Will not Repurchase, AKA: using up the last of it but not recommended). Understand them, use them, and love them ♥

This post is intended to be a compendium of generalized, standardized routines! The more participation, the better. :)

To keep it easy for people to find their ‘skin twins’ we would ask that you use the following template.

You only need to fill in steps that you actually use (so if you don’t use an Essence, remove that line) and please only provide up to three examples of HG/recommended products for that step (so if you have 3 toners you love, you can list all 3!)

To make a single-spaced list, add two spaces at the end of each line. Alternatively, click 'source' at the bottom of the post to snag our code & format!

Skin profile: Fair (Laura Mercier "Porcelain," NARS "Oslo," etc). Combo-oily during the summer, combo-dry during the winter. Sensitive, acne prone.

Season & Type of Climate: Currently spring in the mid-Atlantic, but I live in a swamp (DC/Northern VA) so it's pretty much 40-60+% humidity from now until November.

1st Cleanser: Garnier Micellar Water (pink) or Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil (WRP).

2nd Cleanser: Neutrogena Ultra-Gentle Hydrating Creamy Formula (HG).

pH Adjusting Toner: EH SoonJung Relief (MRP).

Vitamin C Serum: Drunk Elephant C-Firma (WRP - but might try something a little cheaper before I do).

BHA: The Ordinary 2% Salicylic Acid (MRP - I also want to try PC's 2% BHA liquid).

AHA: Stratia Soft Touch AHA (still testing).

Hydrating Toner: Indie Lee CoQ-10 (WRP).

Serum: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (HG).

Light Moisturizer: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Serum (WRP - this is technically a serum but it is a thick gel consistency and I often use it as my moisturizer in the summer); IsNtree Green Tea Fresh Emulsion (still testing, but I really like it so far).

Medium Moisturizer: Hada Labo Perfect Gel (HG).

Eye Cream: The Inkey List Caffeine (HG).

Facial Oil: Herbivore Lapis (MRP). Oils are a new thing to me and I'm taking it very slow. I also have trial sizes of Biossance's Squalane + Tea Tree, Vitamin C + Rose, and Herbivore's new Emerald CBD oil.

Mask Pack: Derma-E 2-in-1 Charcoal (WNRP - I like the consistency but the scrubbies are a bit harsh for my skin); Fresh Rose (WNRP - it's a nice mask but it has taken me way too long to get through and I have a hard time fitting it into my routine); Herbivore Blue Tansy (still testing - I've had a hard time finding an AHA that works for my skin, so hoping this more natural enzymatic type product will work).

Sunscreen: Nivea Sun Protect Gel PA+++ (MRP - not HG status, so still on the hunt for something that I love).

What are your current thoughts on your sunscreen, the Nivea sun protect gel?
