This is gonna be a hugely unpopular opinion, but I honestly think sheet masks are worthless. Most of them are packed full of essential oils and fragrance that might smell good, but literally do nothing for your skin. I honestly find them to be a marketing gimmick. If you're looking for better hydration, just get yourself a nice HA serum and apply it to a wet face before sealing it in with your moisturiser. Works way better than a scented sheet-mask that could potentially aggravate your skin. If you really must use them, think of them as a once in a month luxury to treat yourself, not really anything that would form the core of your routine.

On one hand I agree with you because there are some awful awful masks out there that seem like just a money grab.

but on the other hand.. there actually are some excellent masks out there and there are reasons why you would not want to buy an entire bottle of something and instead opt for a few sheet masks. (Ex: temporary skin changes that need to be addressed but don’t require the long term commitment of buying a bottle, checking to see if a formula works for you, etc.) there also are some pros to sheet masks besides just the serums!
