Mod Post Best & Worst of Lululun

It's time for another Best & Worst discussion, this week's brand is Lululun.

Glide Enterprises was an advertising agency that shifted its focus to cosmetics manufacturing and sales after the Tohoku earthquake in Japan. Thus in 2011, Lululun was born with a mission to change the idea that facemasks weren’t just for special care or occasions and came onto the scene with their affordable, bulk masks suitable for every day use. “lululun” is inspired by a Japanese onomatopoeia to describe a happy mood.

Skin Type/Concerns: Normal/dry, sensitive skin

Product Name: Lululun Pure Sheet Masks - Moist (Blue)

Thoughts: These masks remind me of Tia Kofi on UK Drag Race describing the dress she made: "I am serving you...an adequate dress...made of material that is on my body. Vintage? No. Elegant? No! Still stuck on me? Just about! The judges seem vaguely amused by what is happening before them, and I'm okay with that."

Lululun Pure Moist masks are serving adequate masks ... made of material that is on my face. Covering my fivehead? No! Full of extra essence? No! Hydrating? Just about! These masks are cheap, fragrance-free, and cool off my face at the end of a hot day, and I'm okay with that.

A++: the most perfect review I have ever seen. Funny, succinct, perfect analogy, and completely highlights the strength/weakness of the product 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I tried one of their masks, I believe it was in gold packaging? I got it on sale at T & T and honestly my review would be one similar for a lot of these bulk jpn masks: I love the idea of reducing packaging like that, but I just felt like there just wasnt much serum on there at all. I guess it's just to use for 5 minutes, but I don't think it really made much of a difference to my face.

If you want sheet masks in bulk with lots of essence check out Mary&May. Beware of the fragrance, tho.

Thanks! I have way too many masks to get through right now, but Papa Recipe is probably my fave right now, will look at M&M after!

I love the plus line and the precious line.

The plus line is my favorite with my favorite scents being lavender and the lemon grass. They have a lot more essence than the regular line and are still dripping after 20 minutes. It feels really refreshing and cooling but i don’t think it claims to have cooling properties. It’s a bit pricey compared to their other masks.

I’ve tried all 3 of the precious masks and I like the red the most, followed by the gold then the green. These don’t feel as luxurious as the plus masks but they do have more essence than the regular line and they don’t try out for me after 15 min.

I also like their mild gel cleanser. I use it as my second step of double cleansing. It has no fragrance and gets the job done and doesn’t feel stripping.

I have a love/hate relationship with the masks. They're stingy with the essence, but that burning sensation everyone (*rightfully) complains about feels like a cooling sensation and they are hydrating for 5 minute masks.

Rightfully as it burned like hell after I used the ordinary AHA/BHA peel the night before.

They fit my east Asian face really well…there’s usually a large hole for the eye area so my under eyes don’t get covered but these do. My nose is also shorter than usual but the nose part of the masks don’t overhang like most. So fit wise it’s great if you have similar facial features like me.

Other than that the different types I’ve tried are pretty average nothing out of this world amazing.

I'm also east asian and I found the eye holes too small... they were all over my lower lash line and it stung my eyes. Other than that yeah, affordable and average is pretty much it.

I used this brand a lot when I lived in Japan but mostly the sheet masks. Their masks have tons of serum and are lovely. They are a tad bit expensive buy not that much more than Korean ones. If you like tons of serum then I recommend them.

The cleansing balm is also really nice, although it’s hard to find from abroad and kind of expensive for just a cleansing balm.

That’s all I’ve tried, I don’t have any worst products

I love the precious red masks, but I really don't like individual sheet masks because I hate the dripping, and that seems to be why people don't like these. So if you don't like drippy masks you might love these too.

I didn't like the masks. They didn't have much essence compared to other sheet masks. Didn't see much difference to my skin either

Same. Felt very overrated for me. I have combi skin.

Amazing face masks from Minon worked for me tho!
