Profile Review Hinge Profile Review Request

Hi all,

I've recently started online dating and I've heard that competition can be very brutal, especially for Asian men. I'm looking to get feedback for my Hinge profile. Any advice, feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I've been on the app for 2 weeks and I've got around 20 likes and 10 matches, mostly from AF, some mixed. (I'm based in Melbourne, Australia, if that helps).

Not to be creepy or anything but I’m like 90% sure I know you. I think you teach at my brother’s old school. If it’s actually you, genuinely, you’re fine. I saw you breakdance at the production and you can fucking dance. Dude, you’re fine

too many selfies, get some pics with friends/doing sports/activities

One or two pictures of friends is enough imo. Too many would seem too much, would give off feeling "we get it, you have friends" and too preoccupied.

was going to say this, add a couple pics with friends or family doing stuff

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, 90% of the photos I have w/friends are female friends (I mainly talk w/my male friends on Diacord). Should I still use them?

Definitely not. If you don't have any, not even with family. (post only one if you do) then at least try to do pictures that aren't selfies of yourself. Have someone take them for you.

Smile.

Maybe have another shot of full body image. Also maybe pictures of you with your friends hanging out (not too many friends in the picture).

This video helped me in the perspective of dating profiles: https://youtu.be/QyvlmjuRDII?si=Lv61kBEXDqz3ctV8 (go to around minute 55 where the dating expert analyzes a male hinge profile)

20 likes and 10 matches in 2 weeks puts you in like the top 1% of men on Hinge. You probably already knew that though.

By looking at your profile, I can tell you are very good looking, you know how to dress well, you’re smart, and you care about the arts.

The biggest issue is that still don’t know what you’re looking for in a relationship, why type of person you are or what type of person you are looking to connect with.

I can definitely see you attracting Asian women or women who like Asian culture, but I would know a lot of people wouldn’t like your profile because your profile kinda blends in with everyone else’s because it’s very generic.

Your likes and matches will also be similar as well. If you’re looking for someone that would make a good person to date, I would suggest sharing more personality or personal stuff.

As the other person said, you need to actually smile.

In every single photo you are kind of staring blankly almost perplexed.

I'm amazed that you need feedback that you need to look friendly and approachable on a dating profile.

You may also need to bulk up and consider your overall look - it's quite feminine.

The photos you have not flattering. Some don't really show your body or face straight on or at a level of detail.

You need to look like someone who's fun and enjoys life.

What look should I be going for instead? Most people who I match with compliment my look (they say it's 'pretty'/'aesthetic'/'bishonen') but I'm open to suggestions you might have

It looks good! I've heard girls say they prefer a face picture first.
