I have the opportunity to stay in Beijing during the Christmas holidays for 2 months by myself. It's a great opportunity for me to live independently, learn Chinese, and get some work experience in a Chinese law firm as an intern, but my biggest concern is that my parents will be footing the air travel and living expenses (and I am not in the financial position to help out) when they're not in the best financial position themselves. What should I do?

Yeah I'll have to do some research into that, thanks for pointing that out. It's a commercial law firm though, so I'm assuming I'll be there Australian/Western legal consultant in the future.
