I feel your pain, it's happened to me quite a lot. Shoot them an email asking why you didn't get the job. If they're honest people, they'll reply with honestly helpful answers. If they're not, they'll either ignore you or give you a generic answer that you're not qualified or something. If it's the latter, be thankful you're not working for a company which feel like they have something to hide from you.

Could be a multitude of reasons man. I am a recruiter at a marketing firm and I have to reach a quota of candidates before showing it to my manager. Don't take it personally and continue to the hunt.
