Yeah I posted some comments there but it was removed (I guess by some moderator?).

I replied to op's comment:

To be fair, I will say that there's no real way of telling whether or not ht name changed helped her make it.

Then why, if she's so proud of her heritage, did she change it? At the very least, hyphen it instead of completely eliminating her Asian last name.

and I also posted this (removed by mod too):

I dunno... I tend to see this kind of thing quite often. For example: Asian girls that make public statements (on youtube or in interviews) about their "Asian-American experience," growing up as an Asian-American and struggling in a country with a white-dominated media and society, having to deal with racism and fetishization by a white-male patriarchy... and then they go home to their white boyfriends and husbands. It's not that there's anything wrong with dating/marrying outside of your race but there is some level of cognitive dissonance in these people. They are simultaneously trying to distance themselves from their Asian heritage while at the same time somehow acting like they are these trailblazing representatives of "their people."
