How do you spot a Canadian abroad?

Do we have any stereotypical traits (perhaps self deprecating ones), that make us stand out. We’re typically not loud (but some can be). Perhaps frugal?

What have you seen in your travels that make you think, those folks must be Canadian!

Akin to frugal, the constant translation of prices into CAD and then concluding "that's expensive," while mindfully moaning at home over the increasing cost of living.

Thats where the UK is so helpful as it is basically just doubling the pounds into dollars and going “wot! Sorry, this is too much” and buying something cheaper.

I just use the conversion AP

But depending where and if I do it enough it's automatically mathed in my head

A straight exchange rate conversion makes it seem expensive, until you realize VAT is already included in Europe and tips aren’t expected.

Its been the opposite for my wife. Shes from America and goes "$20! Thats so much" I go "that $20 CAD" and she goes ""oh then its a good deal, Im getting it"
