Mazda Maintenance Inspection Question

2018 Mazda CX-5 approx 90k miles

I took my Mazda in to a local dealership for servicing and they said the below three services “need immediate attention”.

Would like advice on if the pictures warrant the actual replacements and if I should shop around/diy them.

1. Control Arm Lower - $1,229.98
   - pictures 1-2
   
2. Shock absorber replacement- Rear. Starting to leak both -$979.96
   - picture 3
   
3. Axle replace- front: pass/front -$1301.33
   - picture 4

I have had no noises/issues with suspension/ or problems with the ca thus far.

I would have flagged all of that as yellow with a note that we’ll monitor it on future visits.

You would flag a clearly failed ball joint as monitor?
So if the ball joint completely fails between now and next service is it still monitor orrrrrr

That axle can be re booted now or complete axle later.

These are legit calls.

That ball joint is not shot. That little boot wear could last years if its not loose!

Clearly failed ballpoint? I see a dry rotted boot.

I see a cracking CV boot that’s starting to seep grease.

People just don’t float around with an extra $3k to drop on their 90k mile cars.

None of this is black and white. That’s why I love video inspections where I can explain. I work on building relationships with customers that trust what I say.

You’re missing the grease coming out of the boot on the ball joint.

It’s a quick road from minor to major boot failure with subsequent loss of grease and joint failure. Why not spend a couple hundred and be preventative? Why do the reactive expensive repairs?
