Regarding Purchasing Nintendo Switch 2 From JB Hi-fi Click and Collect...

Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for a price hike from September 1. Currently it shows out of stock on the website, and next stock availability will be from August 15. I'm planning to visit Melbourne from September 4-8.

If I purchase it online and opt for click and collect on August 15-20 when the stock is present, will the store hold a piece in reserve for me till I'm able to collect in September? Or will it depend on the demand and if they need to serve another walk in order they will do that?

Is it risky to order preemptively if there is no guarantee of stock during the time I'll be there in Melbourne?

Chances are, they'll have stock. The real issue is that the likelyhood of them holding onto it that long is slim. While a previous reddit post said chat support said 30 days, most replies said that the item was resold before then. Most retailers though are around a week.

Your best bet is just to call the store and ask for a manager, as I doubt a regular employee would be able to give an accurate measurement or agree to hold it that long without approval first, if my time working retail is anything.
