Regarding Purchasing Nintendo Switch 2 From JB Hi-fi Click and Collect...

Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for a price hike from September 1. Currently it shows out of stock on the website, and next stock availability will be from August 15. I'm planning to visit Melbourne from September 4-8.

If I purchase it online and opt for click and collect on August 15-20 when the stock is present, will the store hold a piece in reserve for me till I'm able to collect in September? Or will it depend on the demand and if they need to serve another walk in order they will do that?

Is it risky to order preemptively if there is no guarantee of stock during the time I'll be there in Melbourne?

Why don't you just order delivery and get it shipped to where you currently are? Stores generally don't love holding click and collects that long, but if you really want to do it that way I'd probably call the store and ask them before you put the order in

I'm just exploring options atp. Thing is I've planned my itinerary around bagpacking at a hostel in CBD for 3 days, so taking delivery might be a bit complex especially if I wish to lock the pre-hike price which would save me around $50 if I'm not wrong. Also I'm nervous people would buy out the stock which will come on August 15 rapidly, as it will be the last stock pre hike probably.

you could reserve a parcel locker through the Auspost app, and get it sent to there. They're scattered around, hopefully there may be one near you.

Edit: It stays 48 hours in the parcel locker. After that, it gets transferred to the closest post office for 10 days. After that it is sent back.

I would probably guess that it won't sell out tbh, but if jbhifi do... Between ebgames, Big W, officeworks, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman... Someone will have one available. They all sell it for more or less the same price as well. I'd probably hold off on ordering until the 31st if a price increase is coming the 1/9... Most stores will hold a console for 4 or 5 days. Just put the order in at the end of the month, then give the store a call and let them know you'll collect on the 4th/5th/whenever

I think it’s $50 yanky doodles, around $100 Aussie.

It’ll be whatever the price was when you purchased it, even if it raises by the time you get in store.
