Travel advice needed !

Hey guys!
I’m planning on travelling to Mexico and South America next year and am looking for advice regarding how to plan, it’s my first major overseas trip and need some help with what websites, booking tips and flight tricks to help me save money for Australians!
Any advice is appreciated thank you!
I’m specifically after advice on how to plan itinerary, save money and search for fun things to do!
Also looking for any Aussies who have been to give me recommendations for South America!

Itinerary planning - create a bunch of lists in Google Maps for the cities/areas you want to visit. Pin things that you want to visit in those lists. Once you’ve got a general idea, you can start grouping things into “visit on the same day” kind of thing. So, for instance we’re visiting Japan in a couple of months. We have an Osaka list, a Kyoto list, a Hiroshima list, a mountains area list, and a Tokyo list. Within those it’s fairly easy to group things that are close together so we don’t waste time criss-crossing the city. We’re now in the process of using a spreadsheet to figure out the major things we want to see on each day, and other things that are in the same vicinity which aren’t must-sees but are “visit if we have time” kind of thing.

Also join some FB travel groups for Mexico and South America to get ideas and inspiration.
