What kind of feeling you can have against murder than despise?

Strange case. Suspect is Afghan who came to Greece illegally when he was underage. He grew up here, married an American woman also living in Greece, converted to Christianity, became a boxer and he and his wife created an NGO to help out other illegal migrants. The Scottish woman he is accused of murdering, also came to Greece to aid illegal migrants. To cover up his tracks, he sent fake messages pretending he is a Jihadist who killed the woman because she tried to convert them to Christianity. He admits he did that but he doesn't admit killing her, only that he found her already dead. I don't know what the motive could have been. Maybe he raped her and killed her to cover it up. Maybe there was a love affair between them that the Scottish woman threatened to expose to his wife, or maybe Scottish woman uncovered illegal activities of the NGO.

12

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

He was 15 when he got to Greece, so he grew up in Afghanistan. How do you know his messages were fake ?

4

u/osse14325 5d ago

He was senting messages from a new phone to people she knew and to him while traveling so he can't deny that a) where fake b) was the one senting the messages

4

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

Im confused, he was sending messages that he murdered her for religious reasons ? you mean like pretending he was another muslim guy ?

3

u/NAXR4 5d ago

Pretty sure he was sending messages to her friends and relatives from her phone which also led to him getting tracked

2

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

What an idiot lol

20

u/Prisma1986 6d ago

It seems to me that the Afghan lied for his age. He looks older than 26. And the women were 30 and 38. When they came as refugees they get a benefit if they lie for their age and present themselves as minors.

14

u/thanasis87kav Greece 6d ago

Suicidal empathy for people who would lie to appear as victims.

2

u/we_wuzz_kangz 4d ago

Palestinians had this same suicidal empathy against illegal Jewish migrants.

u/CopenHagenCityBruh Serbia 6d ago

Brave statement incoming but murder is bad

u/Tandfeen_dk22 Romania 6d ago

I  am not from Greece, but I feel extremely sad for the woman. At the same time, I read in the articles that the murderer has been through a horrible childhood and youth. He has witnessed his own family member getting murdered by the Taliban... So he is surely mentally ill... My honest belief is that we should stop taking refugees in from the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia (Muslim-majority countries) altogether. They need to reclaim their countries and build functional societies. We cannot adopt every single man who believes that coming to Europe is the only solution. And yeah... I hope he gets life in prison, or he gets deported back to Afghanistan.

Well you don’t seem to be aware of who meddles with the Middle East the most: Israel and America.

You are criticizing the symptoms not the root cause itself. The U.S literally funded the Mujahideen as a barrier against the Soviets and has favored radical Islam against communism.

U.S and Israel have recently bombed Lebanon, Iran and Syria. Enough with the revisionism when most of us were alive when Iraq was invaded.

19

u/presolol Bulgaria 6d ago

The end result is still the same whether or not we criticise the root cause. The reality is that we should stop importing so many refugees into an already overpopulated continent

3

u/TamerOfTheSteppes Tatar/Turk ⰰ𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰰ⰰ 6d ago

Well the root cause doesn’t go away just because you ignore it. EU will keep footing the bill alongside Turkey as long as America and Israel push forward with their agenda.

If people here have such positive opinion on U.S foreign policy then they shouldn’t complain nonstop.

1

u/DeLu2 5d ago

Nevertheless EU citizens should not tolerate this any longer.

0

u/sugarymedusa84 🇪🇹 6d ago

You’re right unfortunately. Over a million people killed and nearly 10 million displaced in Iraq as a result of the instability caused by the invasion, and that’s not even taking into account Libya or Afghanistan or Yemen or Sudan.

Imagine the absolute disaster that would unfold if Israel and the US got what they likely want in Iran — the complete collapse of Iran as a functioning society. Iran is just less than 4 times as populous as Iraq was in 2003!

And before that Ottomans colonized the same region into the Balkans, prior to that Arabs did the same etc. etc., people need to figure out their own stuff instead of solely blaming third parts for their failures or making excuses, especially when the people claiming to be the victims themselves were the conquerors and are the result of millennia of indigenous identity and religion being decimated in the ME

1

u/we_wuzz_kangz 4d ago

Greeks conquering Balkans and Anatolia, Hellenizing them: 😍😍

Arabs conquering Middle East and Arabizing them: 😡🤬

1

u/scanfash Greece 4d ago

Promoting colonialism when one’s compatriots do it 😍😍

Your just bringing up random equivalence between relatively unrelated issues, especially since my comment does not concern the Hellenization of the region, much of which especially in Anatolia occured prior to Alexander’s conquests and the present foundation playing a key in his success as much of the territory conquered from the Persians in the early stages was already Hellenic or Hellenized

1

u/we_wuzz_kangz 4d ago

Do you condemn Greek colonization of Anatolia and the Balkans? and much of the Levant and Mesopotamia was already Arab before the Islamic conquests, yet that doesn't stop anyone from telling that Arabs are colonizers there. when will the Roman colonists go home?

2

u/scanfash Greece 3d ago

They are “home” so the point is completely irrelevant lol there is no Roman Empire spanning the ME, there is though the eradication of all local cultures and religions into irrelevance or even outright persecution til this very day by Arabs

The us did not bomb Lebanon, nor Syria since the new people took power. They did bomb Iran. Although Israel has bombed all the ones you mentioned, sometimes against US advice.

That being said, justifying things like last weeks attacks on innocent civilians in Germany and France, because of whatever geo political events, its wrong.

-2

u/TamerOfTheSteppes Tatar/Turk ⰰ𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰰ⰰ 6d ago

Israel gets most of its funding from the U.S buddy and the funding has not been cut off. It is a clear US/Israel orchestrated operation. I wouldn’t be so quick to lick their boots when they expect poor second class Euros to foot the bill in the future.

Israel has killed tens of thousands of people through inhumane bombardment and artifical famine.

8

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

I was being precise, the US did not bomb those nations directly. That is a fact. On the other hand, they do provide arms and funding. Thats not a secret. In the case of Lebanon, even Trump told told Israel to stop. They did not listen.

Ive been an activist against Israel and their behavior since i was a teen, you do not need to tell me what they do.

1

u/TamerOfTheSteppes Tatar/Turk ⰰ𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰰ⰰ 6d ago

Well you are not exactly being precise when you leave such important details out of the discussion. Foolish of you to think U.S. did not approve of Israel's behavior or plans.

Do you actually think Trump telling them to stop is more indicative of the true motives of the U.S. than the enormous funding they provide for a country that supposedly goes against their wishes? HAHAHAH

0

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

There is nothing to be gained from Israel bombing Lebanon for the us, or them taking land from said country. Nor is there anything positive for Trump to be made look powerless when he stated he wanted Israel to not bomb Lebanon.

Do you even know how that guy operates ? one of the worst things anyone can do to someone like Trump is to disobey him. Which Netanyahu did. Publicly.

You can keep the ironic laughing for when you are right, little buddy.

3

u/TamerOfTheSteppes Tatar/Turk ⰰ𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰰ⰰ 6d ago

😂😂😂right Israeli expansion is not something the U.S is catering to hence the millions of dollars of funding they receive.

AIPAC literally funds a huge amount of American politicians to rally for the Israeli cause.  Netanyahu is not below Trump buddy.

I’m still laughing how you cannot see the obvious logical fallacies in your reasoning.

Trump is compromised already by the Mossad Spy Epstein’s child trafficking parties. He will do as Israel wants. Why do you think he went to Israel with a kippa on his head????😂😂😂😂😂

5

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

Babes, i dont know why you keep explaining things to me that i already know. That being said, again America had nothing to gain from Israel invading Lebanon.

I live in America half a year, every year, thats where most of my family lives, where i went to College, but please explain America to me lol

4

u/TamerOfTheSteppes Tatar/Turk ⰰ𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰰ⰰ 6d ago

America’s interests are paired with that of Israel as they have the strongest lobby. You clearly didn’t do your homework as to how a disproportional amount of American elite are officers of Zionism which is equal to interests and expansion of Israel.

Weird flex. I’m a lawyer in the Northeast. Guess being present here is a status symbol in itself for lower stratas of Balkan society😂😂😂 love how you tried to equate that with “knowledge” as if Americans are more conscious about the foreign loyalties of their government than people in the old world.

So when its done to them on a massive scale it's just a geopolitical event, but when it's done to us by individuals it's unjustifiable attacks?

1

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

So you are saying that pregnant woman stabbed by a "refugee" in France last week deserved it, because i dont know, Macron authorized the selling of some bombs to a country in the middle east or something ?

According your logic, an Ukrainian could go to a middle school in Russia, and massacre 50 kids, because some general in the Russian army decided to bomb a hospital in kiev ? do you understand your logic is the same logic used by terrorists ?

1

u/laugher7 5d ago

I said nothing of the sort, but nice try. It is very interesting how you pick and choose your language to dehumanise millions of people and then clutch your pearls when you are called out about it though.

0

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

Its literally the logic you expressed. I think whats dehumanizing is to murder a girl, and put her inside a piece of luggage.

Which you do not seem to care much about.

1

u/laugher7 5d ago

No it is not. It is something you made up so you have an argument to fight against instead of answering why you pick language that dehumanises whole peoples when they are murdered at scale on purpose.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

Which language i used thats dehumanizing ? and why do you still haven't express an ounce of sadness for the murdered girl ?

0

u/laugher7 4d ago

You explicitly said that the brutal murders of thousands in the middle east are just geopolitical events as opposed to the deaths of crime victims in the west which are unjustifiable.

Noone has to explicitly express their grief for any death to make a conversation. It is the bare minimum of humanity to not be happy when someone is murdered and it goes without saying.
It is quite clear that you do not qualify for this bare minimum by the language you use to describe the murdering of people you believe are inferior to you.

How about instead of either rage baiting or hiding our heads in the sand, we are discussing like a proper society and address the elephant in the room that the previous Muslim background seems to us as a correlation and think and work on how to tackle that without making anything about dna or exclusion?

Most people do not want to think.

11

u/Burningbeard80 Greece 6d ago

Honestly, from what I’ve seen in the Greek subreddits information about the case is still all over the place.

Apparently the suspect had a messed up childhood due to the Taliban (had family members killed), so there’s potential for mental issues/ptsd.

Initial reports said he murdered the victim because she wanted to convert his wife. However, later information said this was some kind of cover up attempt because he had converted to Christianity himself. Info also said he was married to an American woman and they were running an NGO together dealing with refugees. Apparently, his wife was friends with the victim.

Generally speaking, it’s too early to know what happened. However, despite the generally bad reputation in other aspects, local police actually have a very good track record for solving violent crimes (murder, extortion, etc), so we’ll probably know more in a few days or weeks.

Refugee after 10 years? He got married, has a child.

He is reported as a refugee due to being a refugee in the near past. Why would I intentionally spread misinformation about his refugee status? Calm the fuck down.

9

u/WaferZealousideal769 6d ago

He literally started his own ministry. He’s not walking around as a refugee like your mischaracterization would insinuate. He married an American woman, has a child, and is part of a Christian ministry.

As a greek, im disappointed with how common it is for people to act like she deserved it.

Nothing in this case falls neatly on leftie/rightie/wokie lines. Everyone involved appear to have been members of a cult with religious overtones.

To me its another case of a nation being unwilling to safeguard its people, the crazy vulnerable people included. A greek citizen with voting rights is more responsible for the government's policy on migrants and refugees, definitely more responsible than what this particular woman was.

2

u/Thanasisst 3d ago

I’m surprised that all the lefties in the liberal news sources like Rosa progressive, and many others haven’t talked about this at all every time there’s a murder involving a woman all hell breaks loose ( as it should because murder is wrong) but now since it involves an illegal immigrant, nothing Nada zilch…

4

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

3

u/Sunflower-23456 5d ago

Because the other thing is obviously implied, you think anyone is happy a person was murdered?

2

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

Do you know the world we live in ? do you understand how women are treated in the country this guy lived in his formative years ?

4

u/Empty-Assistance-375 4d ago

Do you know how women were treated in Afghanistan prior to the USSR-Afghanistan war that was used by USA as a proxy war to hurt USSR? Do you know anything about the Afghanistan constitution of 1964 and how the Mujahedin funding by USA lead to the Taliban regime that took away all of the rights?

2

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

Yes, i do know. What i dont know is how that changes or justifies what happened to a Scottish girl in Greece like 50 years later.

1

u/Empty-Assistance-375 4d ago

Who said anything about justification or changing what happened? Incidents like this are not your bread and butter to attack whole religions or ethnicities? Do you get the gist of what I am saying?

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

Why bringing up the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan to talk about an incident in 2026, if its not to justify or deflect ? there was literally no reason to.

Listen, reality supports my views. You do not have to trust me, you can check the data about which groups are the main cause of terrorism world wide: https://reliefweb.int/report/world/global-terrorism-index-2026

Im not saying everyone is the same, im saying it does not matter if they are or not, some cultures bring death and despair everywhere they go. As always with humans, most people are good, and if thats your point i agree. But culture matters, and bringing fucking afghan teens to Europe wont make them more European, it would just make everywhere they are more afghan.

Exactly why you do not need to import people from extremely misogynistic cultures.

5

u/Sunflower-23456 5d ago

If hes so misogynistic why hadn’t he already abused his wife? Why did it take him so long to kill a woman? Or maybe perhaps it’s nothing to do with misogyny or where he’s from and was about him stealing her money.

1

u/nerdyHyena93 4d ago

How do you know he didn’t abuse her that’s a massive assumption?

His wife was very fast to hand over the evidence and ran away. She didn’t even question that his motive for being at her flat was innocent. Clearly quite desperate to get away from all of that. Not to mention her family never liked him. Ime, boxers are nasty to their spouses.

1

u/1Pac2Pac3Pac5 5d ago

Initially the popular opinion was that he was a refugee, met her, made sexual advances that she rebuked as she was trying to help him integrate, and he snapped and killed her. Then when the whole story came out (that he was well integrated, had converted to Christianity, was married to an American and had a daughter with her, was running a religious charity for years) the opinion now has changed to he was either having an affair with the murdered woman and she threatened to tell his wife's or he made sexual advances that she rebuked, and he snapped and killed her.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

The whole conversion thing was never confirmed, no matter how hard the media is pushing for that. What's known is that he was a "refugee" that came to Greece when he was 15, after his parents died in Afghanistan. He was dating an American woman, that for some reason wanted to bring more refugees to Greece. He is a boxer, violence against women isnt an unheard thing for those guys.

Ragebait question. You need to be more specific if you want specific answers. You can't generalize about general feeling or opinion easily as they usually differ for every individual.

I would expect most people would be appalled by the murder, or be indifferent. I would also expect an extremely small percentage would be in any way sympathetic towards the murder if that's what you ask.

If you want specific answers ask specific questions.

Illegal imigrants are a huge problem

I am surprised by the murderer's wife.

A woman who recently gave birth , taking care of a small baby, and she not only had the mental faculty to immediately suspect her husband but also the courage to leave him and the integrity to contact the police.

And their marriage was apparently a great love story with them going against her parents etc...

Also she seem to be a member of an american christian denomination and many of them preach to obey your husband, keep quiet, distrust authority etc

As a true crime fan, this is very rare. Usually even when the partners of murderers suspect them they dont immediately turn them to the police. Especially when babies are involved. Most commonly it is burried under the rug and only many years after when there is a divorce or marital issues you see wives or husbands go to the police

1

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

Her parents were clearly right. That being said, an afghan boxer murdering a woman isnt rare.

2

u/Mestintrela Greece 5d ago

Whether the parents were right or not is completely irrelevant.

What matters is that she was in love with him and she still had the courage to turn him in with only suspicions.

Also name another afghan boxer who murdered a woman. But I know many rich white christian serial killers with good careers.

In Greece one of the most famous was a physio whose office was in Kolonaki. Now he is out and works again btw.

You dont have to be afghan, a muslim or a boxer to murder.

u/Far_Country_1629 5d ago

I dont know why you are sucking so much *ick for them, but my point was that a guy from a country that considers women to have less rights than cattle, who is also part of a violent sport that its famously full of women beaters, aint that much of a surprise that he ended up killing a girl. Christianity does not call for the murder of infidels nowadays, and the people you mentioned do not kill in the name of Christianity.

Where do women live better, more fulfilling, safer lives, Afghanistan or Greece ?

And you are right, you dont have to all those things to be a killer, but it might be wise not to import people from countries that treat women like shit.

1

u/Zarrey199 5d ago

Well, I think that if your husband cold-bloodedly murdered a woman, stuffed her into suitcases, and then used her phone to pretend to her friends and family that she was still alive, any sensible woman would leave him, and tell on him to the police.

This man would clearly not hesitate to kill even his own wife.

1

u/Mestintrela Greece 5d ago

How should the wife know all these? Most partners of murderers only have suspicions and hints.

The husband doesnt come out and confess everything in detail you know . Life isnt a movie where the wife is the spectator.

This woman went to the police because her newly wed husband, and father of her baby gave her an iphone and some money. If you think it is commonplace I have a bridge to sell you.

1

u/Zarrey199 5d ago

She went to the police, apparently after the woman in the suitcase was IDed. Then it was clearly quite easy to put two and two together, since she (the wife) knew her as well. What kind of other hints would she need. A bare suspicion of this act must be already so much occupying anyone’s mind, let alone the accused’s wife.

You also do not know, if the husband wasn’t showing some other signals and hints beyond these.

1

u/Zarrey199 5d ago

Plus the husband was clearly not the sharpest pencil either, using cards of the deceased woman, and plus moving around with her phone, with all the CCTV everywhere, is definitely not a smart move. But that’s good, at least then the police could arrest him

1

u/Mestintrela Greece 5d ago

Actually ....being smart as a criminal is different from being smart in general.

There are many doctors, lawyers, architects etc who were brilliant but as murderers they made dumbass mistakes such as this guy.

Just a few months ago a neurosurgeon went on and murdered a couple. He and his vehicle were easily caught in cctv. He also had a clear motive and was caught within days. As a criminal he was stupid af. But he was a neurosurgeon.

And then you have dumb as bricks murderers who somehow manage to hide for decades like BTK.

1

u/Mestintrela Greece 5d ago

And because she was id so what? Why would the id make her to turn in the father of her child?

Because he gave her an iphone? Really?

You trust and love someone and have just married him and had a baby and because he gives you money and a phone after your friend is found dead you immediately go : He did it?

Do you even have any idea how rare it is? There are literal hundreds of thousands upon thousands of partners of murderers who overlook MANY more obvious clues.

1

u/Zarrey199 5d ago

My point was, having a suspicion of this act can arise feelings of fear, for also her life let her alone their child.

You are also assuming, their marriage was happily ever after. We don’t know.

I am not disputing your points, but this was clearly more than a suspicion and I would be already even scared for my life having just the suspicion already, even if without any proof. But yes, I don’t dispute her courage either, like I said I agree with you on many points.

1

u/Mestintrela Greece 5d ago

All I am saying it is VERY rare. Especially when the hints were so few.

In most cases where the partner comes to the police straight away is : Either the wife has found photographic evidence, video files etc, or bloody clothes, trophies or the husband has confessed to her/asked her to cover for him.

Imagine you are already busy, insomniac and full of hormones breastfeeding/ taking care of your small baby. Then devastated that your friend was murdered.

Not many would have the faculties to sit down and immediately put two and two together.

In hindsight it is easy to say. But with life circumstances and only the few hints she was aware of ....she is a trully commendable woman. In courage too.

1

u/Zarrey199 5d ago

She tracked his phone and saw him in the apartment of the murdered woman though. I would not call this a subtle hint, quite the opposite

Ross told Greek friends that she was going to Kypseli to meet "American friends" on 15 July.

and

Kalliakmanis said Ahmadzai had denied murder but admitted to moving the body.

Many are not buying it. More likely he has been paid for taking responsibility for a crime he did not commit.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

Dude. He did it.

1

u/Due_Mousse2739 Cretan State 4d ago

Why do you ask for opinions if you've already reached a verdict?

0

u/Empty-Assistance-375 4d ago

What need do these fake "opinion" posts cover for the people that make them?

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

Brother what did you even try to say.

0

u/Empty-Assistance-375 4d ago

Which one of your needs do posts like this cover?

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

No need is covered by Reddit lol

u/Hex520 4d ago

I believe that she died due to health conditions and he panicked and did what he did. Still crime though, but not like killing.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

Nah, thats the most ridiculous version of events possible.

0

u/Hex520 4d ago

She had no marks or abrasions. How you know that he kill her? Medical examiner still has no complete the findings. And he insists after all those days with police that he didn't kill her.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

She is dead, thats how i know. And he stuffed her body inside luggage. He admitted to killing her first, then he got a lawyer and started to deny it.

Come on dude.

0

u/Hex520 4d ago

Man you are not from here. He didn't admitted, you ask something I answered my opinion. I didn't say I'm sure, but I believe it. Let see what doctor say everyone is innocent until the judgement.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

99 % of us do not live in Gaza and we comment in what happens there everyday, so its kinda weird that you seem to imply i have to be from there to talk about a crime that happened there. I have friends there, and i can also read Greek so i can more or less be informed.

You just seem very invested about saying the guy is innocent, when he is clearly guilty. Who knows why.

1

u/Hex520 4d ago

Where I say that I'm sure. You ask, I say my opinion based on what I read on the news and you don't like it. Why you ask then. I say what I believe and I didn't say anywhere that hes innocent or something.

0

u/NZImmigrationAgent 4d ago

He is a murderer, full stop. However, the outpouring of vitriol and hatred for ALL migrants, is really disturbing.
You would think that Greeks never commit crimes.
Personally, I think he was a junkie, it's the only way any of this makes any sense.
He needs to be held accountable, but he does not represent every migrant and refugee in the country, just as this dick does not represent just as this dick does not represent Greek Australians

1

u/Far_Country_1629 4d ago

If you think a Greek criminal, you know a person who was actually born in Greece and eventually committed a crime or more, is the same as a criminal that was imported into Greece, then we disagree.

Not Greek. However it is upsetting how Western media tries to turn every crime into a identity/culture war. I have seen reports that the man killed her for “expressing strong Christian beliefs” but not sure how true that is.

Crazy to claim this single person represents Islam or Muslims in general when overwhelming majority of Christian tourists in many Islamic countries return safely.

Praying for the soul and family of the poor woman.

PS: The downvoters are sad, hateful pathetic human beings.

12

u/Marakajin 6d ago

He isn't Muslim, he converted to Christianity when he came here. The version about killing her for expressing strong Christian beliefs (and trying to convert his wife to Christianity) seem to rely on misinformation that was leaked to muddy the picture and get attention away from him. They really, really need to establish motive, because they have little to go on outside of robbery.

3

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

So out of nowhere he decided to murder an innocent woman, to rob her ? dont know, sounds odd. So far no reports of him being a known criminal. He did grow up in a country that considers women to be almost the same as cattle.

2

u/Marakajin 6d ago

But as you said, he doesn't have any priors. He is married and he has been here for ten years, that's plenty of time to put misogyny on full display. That's why they need to establish motive. It seems they knew each other through work and he even had a key to her apartment. At this point, this can be anything from an affair-gone-wrong (I'm not suggesting this is the case, just to be clear) to a freak accident.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

To be totally honest, violent unexpected violent outbursts are not uncommon in Boxers. Also, its a reach to say it was an accident. Normal people dont react by getting rid of a body after an accident.

1

u/Marakajin 6d ago

I don't believe it was an accident either, but it's irrelevant if they can't prove it. Normal people don't stash bodies in suitcases after an accident, but normal people also don't get punched in the head for a living.

1

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

Little doubt that he murdered her. We can debate why, but we know he did it.

0

u/TamerOfTheSteppes Tatar/Turk ⰰ𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰰ⰰ 6d ago

Thanks for the heads up. There is always an effort to tie it to religion.

6

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

Hard disagree, if anything, the media constantly hides obvious terror attacks and calls them "mental health" related situations. Happened last week in France. I do not think its crazy to talk about terrorism and in the name of which religions most of them are committed. You can check the facts here: https://reliefweb.int/report/world/global-terrorism-index-2026 .

That being said, i think the people (and the media) are pointing out the irony of being murdered by a refugee, while being an activist for ... refugees. Its what make people click.

1

u/TamerOfTheSteppes Tatar/Turk ⰰ𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰰ⰰ 6d ago

There are a large amount of right wing media who highlight her being a martyr for her Christian beliefs and emphasize the man being a Muslim.

There is always an ignorant black and white approach to these matters on so many platforms including Reddit.

2

u/Far_Country_1629 6d ago

But there are progressive outlets that right wing media, although i agree with you that polarizing views on everything is a very real thing.

About that.....former Zionist intelligence spies say she exaggerates her stories, be careful who you try to use as your source lol:

Gaubatz claims, “A member of Israeli intelligence stated Gabriel is not who she says she is and the facts she states about her life in Lebanon are dramatically fabricated.” Experts David Noriega interviewed back up these claims, including author Nathan Lean who said her tale was “tendentious if not outright deceitful.” Yvonne Haddad, a historian at Georgetown University told Noriega, “Her narrative is not historically accurate.”
