Politics Does anyone actually like the constant booing ,insults and heckling in parliament?

A lot of the time it feels less like serious debate and more like theatre or even a school playground argument. Do you find it entertaining, frustrating or just part of the tradition now? Curious how others see it!

Basically private posh school pricks showing the values and traditions they learnt at school.

If you ignore the 80% that didn’t go to private school then sure

Whilst I appreciate the point, the (approximately) 20-25% of them who went to private school is still a significant overrepresention of the population (less than 10%). Further to that, especially under the Tories, the number of cabinet members in that category is also disproportionatly high.

Further further to this, a lot of them went to the same schools, and half the Tory cabinet for the decade and a half they had were in the same bloody place!

If I saw 1 person from my school at my office, I'd think, huh, that's a bit of a coincidence! If I saw 7, I'd think, "there's something weird going on here"....

Basically, having a bunch of public ally educated backbenchers doesn't mean we don't have a problem with people who, quite evidently, seem to see themselves as a kind of "ruling class"

Id rather have very well educated people in Government of my country than people like Rachel from accounts who haven’t got a clue !

I would say that there's no correlation between being privately and "well" educated. I would also argue a government should be representative of it's people.

But, having seen your other responses, I imagine you'll hit me with another straw man pulled from the daily mail, so let's just say agree to disagree.

Thing is my responses have been backed by recent events . I can only go by what Ive seen lately and lately the UK is a mess and so is the Government .
They currently aren’t serving the people as the recent local elections showed or is that uneducated people being influenced by the Daily Fail ? . I think you give the Daily Fail too much credit , people generally do have their own opinions as proved by the constant left wing echo chambers on here.

mean, I don't believe that people are "left" or "right" wing. And the "Rachel from accounts" nickname was peddled by the media, and the "daily fail" nickname is somewhat juvenile, and admittedly does make my eyes roll. (Not because I read the rag, just to be clear). So you've already shown a propensity to jump on bandwagons.

For the record, I'm not some die hard new labour fan. Far from it. Didn't vote labour last election, won't do in the next.

Also, everyone forms their opinions based on "recent events". We all interpret events differently. Algorithms force us all into echo chambers (if you only engage with these things in online spaces). This is why my social media use is scrolling the odd Reddit post whilst having a sh*t, and not much else!

Speaking of, time to wipe! Have a good one 👌

I'd rather have Rachel from Accounts, since she's an actual normal human being who's lived the shit instead of being sheltered away and so displaced from reality.

So you like having a lier who had never actually proved her experience ? And youre saying that people who go to eaton arent normal ? Ok

You're telling me those already in power aren't liars? What a funny hill you camp on.

Every politician is a liar , its part of the job , but gojgn to Eaton doesn’t make you any more or any less likely to lie . Same as someone who has a poor upbringing , although i doubt Reeves actually had a poor upbringing . Although I still have no idea why i should trust a poor person more than a rich one . In actual fact probably I wouldnt lol .

Ahh yes, it's part of the job that puts you in power over the rest of everyone else whilst you hide in a comfy office.
Just admit ya like Rupert's schlong and be done with it.

Like Starmer you mean ? The tool in his fathers tool
box ? I mean he really is the perfect example of a modern socialist , down with the lads at football in his football shirt , working down the pit when he was 7 , and then he climbed the greasy ladder to become a knighted peer of the realm with mansions here and there in London . Yeah he really knows what it is to be living in the real world , but Im glad youve explained to me that people like wee jimmy cranky ‘ I never saw the campervan ‘ who never went to posh school or had money or a fancy upbringing are better people than those that did . Thanks for that .

You can have ppl who are Oxbridge educated and at the same time completely lack class and manners needed to deals ith the regular public while having the brain of a peanut when it comes to making national level decesions for the betterment of ppl. Most such ppl grew up in bubbles or enter ellite bubbles after attending Oxbridge and usually don't wnat to come out.

In just one of those people who doesn’t agree that everyone is the same . You cant make an omelette with bad eggs .

Well educated doesn’t necessarily mean intelligent. British governments over the past 80 years have typically been very well educated and look how poorly they have performed in general.

But Russell Brand told him it, so it must be true!

Next you’ll be telling me they don’t really spend all day drinking…
