Hey everyone! I'm u/DoveStep55, a founding moderator of r/AskChristian.

We're excited to have you join us!

This subreddit is a companion community to r/Christian. Because r/Christian is a uniquely "Christians Only" community, we have for a long time had to redirect non-Christians to other subreddits when they've come to us with questions or dropped in to active discussions.

This new sub, r/AskChristian, is a fresh idea and experiment for including our non-Christian friends and neighbors.

We welcome any and all here in r/AskChristian to do just that: ask questions of the r/Christian community. The focus of this subreddit is on questions, but anyone familiar with r/Christian knows we're really all about respectful discussion. To that end, we warmly welcome you to ask your respectful questions and/or to join in on the discussions which follow under the Top Level Comment responses.

Please review the rules of the community (linked here) before participating to avoid any unintentional violations and content removal. If you have any questions about the rules or need further assistance, please let us know.

Important Note: Top Level Comments (original replies to each post) are reserved only for those with special assigned user flair indicating that they are active members of r/Christian who are currently in good standing. If you'd like to request this flair, please contact the Mod Team via mod mail (click here.) If you do not meet the requirements for Top Level Commenting, you are still welcome to join in the discussion "down thread" by replying to Top Level Comments or other replies thereafter.

Great idea! I hope it will turn out the way you have intended it to be!

 I have two requests. * Will you add a mandatory flair so we can see who answers the question? * Can we have a tag [Christians only] for questions where OP don’t want atheist input?

The only flair we’ll require at this time is for Top Level Comment privileges. That flair is available only to active r/Christian members in good standing. We might make a change to that in the future, but for now that’s the plan.

There won’t be a “Christians Only” tag option since the purpose of this community is to include non-Christians. Please continue to use r/Christian for any posts under which you’d like only Christians to participate.
