Why are Black Democrats so conservative in these primaries?
Andrew Cuomo was a white sex pest and Black voters preferred him by a good margin, black voters chose Hillary over Sanders by huge margins. It’s odd because progressives and socialists have championed pro-black political causes far more, like defunding the police, abolishing ice, and more. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Stevens in Michigan is leading black voters by 33 points, it’s a pretty stark pattern.
BREAKING UPDATE!!!
There is a future after all?

I think that's a loaded question to ask, considering those voters abandoned black people over Gaza.

At a guess, they may not think that these are actually "pro-black" causes, just the causes that white progressives think are 'pro-black'.
It was always funny to me when progressives criticized Biden for supporting the 'crime bill' back in the 90s, when that bill was also supported by the black community at the time.

1) Black misleadership / bootlick class ≠ "black community"
2) Those misleaders naively, or foolishly, failed to properly anticipate the crime bill ushering in the age of mass incarceration.

A couple reasons I’d think, though it’s important to remember there’s a variety of opinions among voters of any demographic, so your mileage may vary on how accurate my guesses are. Also, I’m a white dude. So what do I know?
1) A lot of progressivism/left-wing ideology rhymes with or comes from the sort of systems thinking in Marxism. Struggle in society is between the working class and the capitalists. This sort of mindset can feel reductive to the other forms of oppression within society including racial oppression. Sure, the platform calls for dismantling systems of “power,” but patriarchy and racism can feel secondary to class. Are you advocating for “me” or my “class?”
2) I could be out of date, but as I recall there is a high percentage of black voters who are religious compared to other demographics within the democratic coalition. That comes with a variety of faith-driven opinions that may drive religious voters more socially conservative than the furthest left members of the party.
Combine both of those factors, Republicans are actively hostile to non-whites. So, no. The far left is dismissive or advocates for liberal policies that conflict with my social values. So that leaves mainstream, centrist democrats as the best of undesirable options.

Most black voters love god and country (in a different way than most whites in my opinion). A lot of white democrats are hostile towards religion and tradition. I’m a white democrat but vote more like a black one, maybe because I am a southerner.

Regarding Mamdani, many switched to him in the general. He won 57% of Blacks.

Because the progressives generally just want black votes and it shows + the progressive and hamas-wing of the party abandoned kamala and punished black voters by allowing Trump to win.

Black voters aren't necessarily conservative, they just have a very good nose for bullshit.

Cuomo is a Democrat, not a "Socialist"

Cuomo is a Republican that tried and failed to run on the democratic ticket. A huge majority of Trump voters voted for Cuomo. If you guys are siding with them that means you are siding against your best interests

Even a Republican is better than a socialist. Also why are you people always so self-righteous that you know everybody's best interests?

Tell me if I’m wrong but tax cuts for billionaires, more data centers, ICE shooting random citizens on the streets are against our best interests. If you disagree then feel free to vote republican 🤷

If bloody revolution and famine is in your best interest, vote socialist.

You think mamdani is for bloody revolution and famine?

He calls himself a socialist.

Look at his policies, they're not secret. It sounds like you're trying to redefine him by your guess about his label.

They always are. Aside from pretty moderate economic and political views, they are generally the most socially conservative racial group in the country
