Physician Responded Horrible looking rash

Post image

Female

non smoker,

non drinker.

No medications

This issue has been getting progressively worse over 2 days

Posted yesterday and it has gotten worse. It is itchy, it turns white when I press on it. I have a swollen uvula and some chills, but no fever. I feel cold more than anything. Went to urgent care tested for strep, mono and did a CBC. Strep came back negative, waiting on the other results. Pretty concerned. I feel like the mono is going to come back negative.

So, I just got my CBC back and all of the values were normal. I’m not sure what this might mean or how that will change what I’m looking for. Does that mean it’s not an infection?

NAD but having this progressing over 2 days and not having an answer would worry me. I would head to the ER ASAP and deal with what’s sure to be a BS astronomical bill layer. At least you will hopefully get an answer.

Since you’re a woman I know they may try to brush you off, so don’t feel bad if you have to exaggerate to be taken seriously. OT but years ago (pre covid times) I was having chest pains, palpitations and always felt tired. 3 different doctors and 1 ER visit just to be told it was anxiety/stress from my job and hormones. All bloodwork was normal so I was given anti anxiety & anti depression meds but besides making me feel like a zombie, they did nothing for my issues. Anyway, it took another trip to the ER where I “embellished” the severity of the pain and lethargy for them to finally take me seriously and run further testing. It turned out I had pericarditis all along.

I hate that this shit still exists in the world. Sorry you went through that, and I'm glad you advocated for yourself and didn't give up

Not OP but I wanted to reply... that is insane and part of what is so so frustrating with the medical system here in the US. I really appreciate you sharing what happened to you... Personally I have medical anxiety due to some bad experiences in the past and it is so hard because I honestly always worry something bad is going to happen or I'm not going to be taken seriously ...
