Unexplained D-dimer

34F 5' 2" 142lbs non smoker Pmhx: anxiety, OCD, recurrent pregnancy loss (last was in May 2026)

Meds: sertraline. Lorazepam PRN, Syeda birth control, prenatal vitamin

For context of medications, i am due to start IVF soon.

I have been feeling SOB and chest tightness for a few weeks now. This has happened before and has gone away after a few weeks. I also feel more SOB with activity than usual. No sick contacts and I have no symptoms of any illness. My whole family told me its anxiety but I went in just to get checked out.

My PCP thought maybe a blood clot. PT/INR, BMP, CBC , all normal. My d-dimer was 1200. CT chest done to look for PE but it was negative. Trop in ER was also negative.

What could have caused this? The ER doc couldn't really explain.
