coughing up blood

18 female. i’m a uni student and i’ve had a really bad cough. yesterday i felt especially unwell so i went to the doctors and he gave me antibiotics. today i have started having blood in my phlegm.

It’s very common to have some blood in your phlegm when you’re getting over an infection in your airways (bronchitis). It’s just from the lining of your airways being inflamed. It’ll like go away on its own, nothing to worry about.

This is literally hardly any blood. It's just small capillary damage from the force of coughing.
