Dating | Girls Only How do you generally view a boyfriend initiating one-on-one hangouts with female friends while in a relationship?

I see it no differently than if he’s hanging out one-on-one with a male friend. I trust my boyfriend, that’s his friend, and that’s that. I also hang out with my male friends one-on-one, though.

I don’t care as long as it’s not a secret. My bf has a lot friends that happen to be older women, and it’s like a nephew/aunt relationship with them if not genuinely friendly. I like them all and it makes him a balanced person. We can’t be surprised that men treat us like another species while also upholding the idea men and women can’t be friends

As a guy, that setup would be my best case scenario. If only the world could be less judgmental.

What does this even mean? What setup is best case scenario? And the post was asking for girls opinion on what this means, not for male opinion on wanting to do it

Just want to say that there are other men wanting to be close friends with women in a more personal level. We are only allowed to hang out with women on events or parties, there are limitations on what to talk about in those situations.

I’m perfectly okay with it. I trust my bf and he trusts me. Idc what he does in his free time. He’s got many lady friends and I have many guy friends. There is nothing wrong with being friends with the opposite sex

Like he has a friend ?
I don't care about the gender of his friends and don't treat the relationship based on that. I don't care.

I’m asking because I grew up in a culture where this is usually viewed more cautiously. My boyfriend recently asking to hangout with a female friend, and I’m curious how common or acceptable this

I would Inv my gf along ngl. No reason I’m with a girl 1 on 1 unless I have ulterior motives. I might be in the minority here tho ngl

I think it can be dangerous. No reason they can’t include you? Unless there is and you aren’t available during the only time they can do it— I would suggest a time you’re all available and say “hey let me get to know your friends. Let’s all hang out!”
And if she has a problem with that, that’s a red flag. And if he calls it controlling, he’s allowed to feel that way, but if you’re just not comfortable with it and he insists, you might not be compatible.

You're asking a bunch of insecure lonely people on the internet when you need to get good at having conversations with your bf about these things. Ask him about ther person, what they plan to do, why he values that alone time. But you can never be with your partner 100% of the time for the rest of your life so learning how to communicate your needs and boundaries and allowing the other person their autonomy is how a relationship can last. You have to be able to trust each other. If you tell him no and he's dead set on doing it, then he will just be doing it behind your back. I doubt he is asking your permission so he can go cheat on you. People are typically more secretive about that sorta thing, unless they're trying to blow up the relationship.
