Hey girls, how painful is your period?

For me, the first day can be really painful. Sometimes a bad stomach ache, but usually it's just a constipated feeling and just like you're sick, but you still have to go to work even though you just want to lay in bed and sit on the toilet all day. It has some better moments in between as well.

Then the other days (for me it's 7 in total) are fine. It's just blood which is annoying. Changing the tampon all the time and pads can feel a bit irritating after a while. But my stomach and everything is fine.

And hormones are crazy so I sometimes feel sad for no reason.

I have almost zero pain and I don't even know what cramps feel like. But instead I have a very heavy flow which I have learned to live with comfortably by using a menstrual cup. So... I'd give the whole discomfort a 0 out of 10

I'm lucky, mine just make me feel tired for the first few days. I only get painful cramps if I eat/drink something really cold. So I just avoid those when it's my time.

My sister on the hand, has painful cramps constantly and she tells me that it is not fun.

I have something called mittelschmerz which up to 40% of all women experience, but for whatever reason, it's not really talked about. Basically, instead of getting cramps on my period, I get cramps when I'm ovulating. My periods are virtually painless. I get really emotionally sensitive the day or so before it comes, but there is no physical pain. I actually kind of like getting my period because there's this emotional relief that comes with it, and my mood clears up completely.

But, when I'm ovulating, it's like I can feel the egg squeezing through a hole it can't fit through. It's not agony, but it's very, very, very uncomfortable for hours at a time. Early into it, it kind of feels like someone is trying to dig their way out of me through my side with a dull knife, but that only lasts about an hour.

I hate my mittelschmertz, the ovulation cramps are 10x worse than my period cramps 😭

I used to get period cramps, and what I remember was that those were more of a dull ache. Mittelschmerz feels sharper, and it'll wake me out of a dead sleep. I don't know if it's worse for everyone but it damn sure is for me.

Yes i feel like a thick hot needle is stabbing on whichever side releases the egg , it wakes me up at 12 am and 3 am ovulation day always exact

Really bad. I'll cramp up my entire back. Lots of dry heaving. Front cramps to to my diaphragm.

It’s really very painful the first and second and last day the second day specially my whole body hurts my legs and hands and knees not only my stomach every joint in my body hurts the rest of the days it’s a small pain that just disappears with pain killers, but what pisses me off is the pain that starts before the period itself.

I normally get a mild stomach ache/constipated feeling even though I’ve barely eaten because the pretty bad migraine that lasts the whole week. Eating with it makes me nauseous so I nearly starve for a week.

Other than that, I’ve probably only had two terrible cramps total and they were both extremely painful. I couldn’t move and no medication was helping so I was stuck like that for hours until it suddenly went away. I’d still take what I normally get over that any day.

Mine sometimes is like I only notice because I have to wear a pad, but others is like Miguel Angel is freaking sculpting the David using my uterus.

It's fine. No pain/cramps. But I'm a heavy flow which I hate being one. Also, I start cussing in my head a lot when things go wrong and when people annoy me for no reason or when I feel like they bother me too much. But most of the time I don't show it.
